I've avoided getting a smartphone, and this is one of the big reasons. Compulsive smartphone usage has become nothing short of an addiction. It probably has a lot in common psychologically with sex addiction.

Good for you. I prefer having instant, on-demand access to the world's information in my pocket. Maybe I'm an addict, but it's my choice and I like it.

I might have to go the smartphone route here. No broadband internet and our phone lines are owned and operated by Frontier communications, the worst phone company in the country. Also,Ohio wants to do away with land lines.
