When I came home this afternoon I found the living room and part of the foyer in shambles. Stuff strewn everywhere, upended.. Called the cops thinking there was a break-in. Then the wife got back from the store. And it all made sense! She was trying to catch a fast-moving spider.

  She went out to get some bug spray. And because of miscommunication and a spider cops were called, and all sorts of drama occurred. Idiot neighbors gawking and filming. And all of us stomping and making noise to scare the fucker out.

  What is it with women and spiders? A coworker of mine freaked out when she found a spider at her desk; I just squashed it with my thumb. This coworker had recently had a baby, so I asked how on earth she could go through childbirth and still be afraid of a harmless spider. I think she threw a stapler at my head.
