I'm still not sure why anyone feels excited about this. It's not that I hate it; I'm just indifferent. The "new VCS" is nothing that you can't already have a thousand different ways elsewhere.

Is it just because it's a turnkey solution with an "official" Atari name badge?

TBH, if I had the money, I'd be tempted. Would look cool on our wood cabinet below the TV. But I'll probably just settle for putting a real VCS on it.

It is kind of an interestingly counterintuitive situation though. I've always been under the impression that software sells hardware, but there's not much known about the VCS software line up at this point and the pre-orders have already blown past my wildest possible expectations. I can only guess that the general public has forgotten Atari's foibles of the past and are just really excited that there's a new Atari console on the way.
