Yeah, they were scaring kids away from watching it but had that cheapo X-Ray flash effect. Go watch Terminator 2 for a real nuke scene...

I didn't have a REAL siren that alerted the entire town. It was some sort of outdoor horn with an amplifier which was then hooked to one of those siren project kits. It was loud though, you could hear it several blocks away.

Haha! Blocks Away?? The neighbors are quietly watching The Day After, when they hear the alarms outside,...The mob probably rushes the one guy on the block with his own bomb shelter (a La Twilight Zone)
