Count your blessings. My neighbors kids are hyper active. They shoot arrows, throw rocks, launch baseballs, scream and have a chase once in a while to drive my dog nuts. Every now and then you find them walking on their roof presumably to recover lost projectiles.

Meh. Chores are boring. Phones are fun. Parents are lame. Glad I don't live with any of you people who sincerely use words like "nanny state."

Maybe I'm naive, but wouldn't this problem diminish significantly if parents simply didn't buy smartphones for their kids? Everybody says "oh, that would never work nowadays," but honestly, why not? If you absolutely need to keep in touch with the kids every minute of every day, just get them a cheap flip phone.
