I once burned myself in the forehead with a soldering iron. I shall not attempt to explain how that happened.

If you haven't been burned by a soldering iron/gun, than you haven't lived. Just be careful you don't breathe those fumes in too deep! lol

All kidding aside, though, I agree that a good soldering iron, and the skills to use it, are essential for anyone who claims to be a classic computer or console enthusiast.

(I'm always amazed at the number of collectors of these systems who never bother to learn the first thing about repairing or maintaining electronics. Quite a contrast from classic car enthusiasts, who love to get their hands dirty working on their beloved cars.)
