How low can you go before silicon just doesn't work anymore?

Best estimates, including my own studies, 2nm.

It's more a problem of building them this small rather than having them work. if we can keep the wires separate and not shorting, then everythings a-ok.

Remember this is all still pretty much planar. Once they start stacking die one on top the other, heat dissipation becomes an issue. It takes no more visible space to stack 10 chips into one die than 1. But now you have 1000 watts to radiate away!
