      With use, their solid-state cache wears out and the drive becomes slower than a traditional spinner with DRAM cache. But they don’t tell you that.

      I can't speak to the devices they officially call SSHD in computers, but I can tell you that every single solid state hard drive alternative I've used, ends up getting corrupt waaaaaay before their time. Or way before they should. These include USB Thumbdrives, CF and SD cards. Either using PCMCIA, SCSI or IDE adapters. Doesn't matter - they all turn to shit sooner than later.

      All these thumb drives, CF, uSD, USB, DOMs, jump drives and key drives.. none of them have the wear leveling and trimming/GC a real SSD has. And they’re all cheap crap to begin with.
