I've seen computers with even 64GB of storage that couldn't update Windows.  That OS just inflates to fill all available space.  Even deleting everything non-essential left it with no room.

When Windows 8 came out, I bought a Mac.  I like the OS, but I have since discovered the pitfalls of the hardware.  I'd go the Hackintosh route, but their plans to switch to ARM are likely to lock out that option too.

Sounds like a major case of bloatware to me. I'm on 7 right now and like it well enough, but they are dropping support of it next month.

@ChildOfCv There's a way to flush out extra files and old versions to clear out space in Win10, but it's not as easy/automatic as it should be. And Hackintosh is a pain in the ass because of the need to get tricky with kernel extensions and device drivers. I don't get why Linux can get away with being relatively slim while supporting all the same diverse hardware as a windows. 
 

At least hardware and storage is so much less expensive now.
