If you're referring to the chalked-in sign in the Borg cube on "Picard," I think that was an especially dumb idea, in a show that's already full of them. I believe that 5843 days is exactly sixteen years on Earth, factoring in leap years. Why would anyone way out in another planetary system use Solar days to measure time?

^ An "inherent genetic preference" among aliens who have never been to Earth before??? Shouldn't they be accustomed to whatever rhythms are inherent to their own worlds and their own biological history? Don't feel as if I'm going after you; it's just that these are the kinds of details that Star Trek used to be good at paying attention to, and it's sad to see how much it's been dumbed down.
