Did any game console ever use the 8086/8088 processor? Can't think of any off hand.

The Konix Multisystem was intended to use a 8086 but alas it remained vaporware. Instead it seems the Tandy VIS (1992) was the first X86 based console, using a 286, followed by the FM Towns Marty (1993) with a 386SX and then nothing until the portable Wonderswan (NEC V30 in 1999) and of course the Xbox series. Mostly the earlier Intel CPUs were considered expensive and sometimes convoluted compared to e.g. Motorola 68K so unless you wanted a console that would run IBM PC programs (kind of what the Marty does, I think), it doesn't seem to have been much of a consideration.
