  1. Cozyying up with some Space:1999 on this sub-freezing night. Double and triple blankets all over the reading room.

      Although I seem to remember vaguely that it was on TV...I've actually never seen it (a full episode).   Maybe I should check it out?  I mean I've just barely gotten into Dr. Who from the 60's so that's where I'm at haha...

      Sure why not? The effect are cheap drawings on cellophane and there are obvious close-ups of models. Oscilloscopes and mechanical clocks. Science experiments of glass and Erector-set-like constructs. Paper printouts Typical 70's.

       

      The whole premise of the moon flying around is ridiculous but it fits. Typical British material.

       

      The stories are intelligent. And you'd swear later StarTrek took hints from it. As it did from StarTrek.

       

      The Eagle Transporters are very believable and practical.

      My older brother had the toys he got one Christmas back in the late 70's it must have been. We watched the show and played with the toys, but I remember almost nothing about the show except the large ship and Martin Landau. My brother had the main ship toy and a few other accessories and action figures. I think I was 5 or 6 when that show was on, so I remember very little.
