These were 300baud Micromodems again. Known for running at 450 baud with some software tricks. Always beat spec. We had something called Zoom Telefonics modems, thr laughingstock of data transfer!

Surely there are plenty of third-party screwdrivers at this point for any oddball screws Apple uses.  I've never had any problems opening Apple devices, and I have opened a TON of them (mostly computers, though, I've never opened an iPhone or iPad).

I heard that idea of sending everything to central "hubs", then sorting, then the planes leaving with packages bound for their area, came from a college business term paper. He got a "C" on the paper (dumb Prof.)...But Fedex, USPS, UPS etc. thought it was Great.

I had a weird dream that my parent's house was now a big department store.

I had a dream that my parent's apartment had been converted into a hotel, and then now needed to pay per night to stay in what used to be their home.

A stomach full of pasta and garlic bread before bedtime can really make you have weird dreams.

@Keatah, I have an old iXserver 1U rack PC built by Wind River Systems. I used it as a UNIX mail/web/proxy server back in the 90s. It's still around and functional, I think it had BSDi. PM me if you are interested.

I'm in the middle of doing my 486 stuff now, next is the pocket computer stuff. Every 5 or so years I go and straighten everything up.

Cool! I never owned one, but I've always liked the TRS-80 Pocket Computers.

(One could probably build a modern version pretty easily with today's microcontrollers. Another geek project for my nonexistent free time.)

Since I tried Windows 10 (Once Uggg!) and it wouldn't stop making annoying noises,...I call it the Jar Jar Binks of Operating Systems LOL!

I've been using Win10 on my cheapo GOG.com laptop for a couple years, and of course we use it at work every day. Really, other than the frequent updates I haven't had too many issues. At this point I'm a long ways from a "power user" though, my needs are few.

I’m only a power user when it comes to simulations and physics modeling. Everything else we do works fine on a 10 year old rig.

It got so bad so fast I kept my wirebrush from my toolbox with me to scratch. Till I got the med which worked quite quickly. Now it's 1% strength for routine patrol for a while.

Man it came on like a freight train. One day I was fine the next an itch-fest. Right after an event we attended. I'm sure.

Ahh, summertime. 

Usually a slap'n'scratch with soap'n'water does the trick. But not that time. Damn! ..I should have saved some of it and cultured a batch.
