I remember that too. Around 1997 or so I remember my parents buying me a real honest to goodness Klax machine for my birthday from a local arcade for like $200. It got sold after a few years because it took up a ton of space and I hardly ever played it once the initial novelty of having an arcade machine wore off, but yeah, they were pretty cheap in the mid to late 90's.

Spiceware, maybe the HDR is getting in the way of your screenshots? You could try turning it off, or maybe shoot some video and do (lower res, but still good) screen grabs from there?

Good idea - I'll try disabling HDR when I play my next round for the 2600 HSC. If that doesn't work I'll buy Halide.
