There's too many. But they are from the early 400/800 era Atari cartridges. Sirius and Br0derbund, too.

At least there's tacos. Lots of vitriol and (probably well warranted) cynicism, but tacos nonetheless.

  7. Amazon delivery. Damned impressive! Receiving some packages overnite for free. Others within days, for free too. Realtime tracking of the amazon-contracted courier on googlemaps..

Oh and how could I forget... every single time I order from Amazon - something (usually several things as in this very last time) ends up damaged due to their horseshit packaging. More like NO packaging. Just movies and music thrown into a box, left to rattle and crush each other. So aggravating. DVD's always wind up scratched. Thankfully Blu-ray have the scratch resistant coating.

Alcohol increases the mortality of young but not old mice infected with the tuberculosis-causing bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), and this effect is mediated by the production of a protein called interferon-alpha (IFN-α). The study, led by Deepak Tripathi of the University of Texas Health Science Center, will be published August 2 in the open-access journal PLOS Pathogens.

      Just like "Atari"

  14. Great that the 7800 is gaining in popularity. Maybe one day emulation for it will get the royal treatment instead of the royal flush. Thinking about toilets and stuff, you know.

Sony did not take down Bleem!. Sony did not win any lawsuits. It was court costs that they could not handle. As for this emulator takedown, roms and BIOS were hosted. Pretty dumb.

Quad-Layer-Cells, for Flash memory. They have a write cycle of about 100 times. That's it!

  18. Emulators.. Emulators make it easier for classic games to exist in today's world.

    1. Flojomojo

      Flojomojo

Not to mention old, unsupported operating systems, and file systems with decaying physical media. Emulation is boss!

I've got a stack of data tapes (yes, tapes) from 1985 in my office that measure capacity in "bits per inch." The information contained on them would be a quick and easy download on my phone over the cellular network.

Emulation helps bridge the past and present.

You and I are very much alike. Archeology is our religion, yet we have both fallen from the pure faith. Our methods have not differed as much as you pretend. I am but a shadowy reflection of you. It would take only a nudge to make you like me. To push you out of the light.

It hurts to say this, as I've been really optimistic about the prospects for the Ataribox and understanding about the lack of a working prototype, but after The Register's interview... yeah, you got me. Now it really does look like a nefarious cash grab to raise stock values before the current owners of Atari sell the company and let making a real product to deliver on all the vague promises be the new owners' problem.
