It'd be cool to take the Head Sequence from I'Robot and fill it with lice, which you have to blast with your HairForce. Call in the spray bombers, or tweezer fighter jets. If you run out of ammo you can refill at the next level of pharmacy base. You can consult The Doctor for strategy planning. Multiplayers with multiple heads and cross contamination bonus levels.. Alternatively Liberator could be adapted in a similar fashion.

2600 Homebrew Quality Dropping:Proposed Solution
Keatah replied to GemWare Games's topic in Atari 2600
I'm my own review system. As are my house guests. Opinions are all we have. Nothing more. And getting past the high vs. low language stuff? It'll never happen. -
2600 Homebrew Quality Dropping:Proposed Solution

I'd rather have quality over quantity. All the games I use to "showcase" the VCS are of a certain caliber - a level of quality that can only be achieved with certain tools. -

Actually I believe the right tool for the job is what works best. -
Are there any games out there that feature lice and nits as the main theme? Or any games that at least feature the critters?

2600 Homebrew Quality Dropping:Proposed Solution
Keatah replied to GemWare Games's topic in Atari 2600
Wrong. It does. EDLIN vs MsWord do the same job, but work differently. They are merely ways to record a thought. Both can produce the same output. In 6502 Assembler vs BASIC, there are two different ways of thinking for each tool. And 6502 requires more thought. 6502 can produce output BASIC cannot. -

Of all the VCS homebrews out there, I have about 10-12 on my frequent playlist. -
Well yeh. Why spend time, gas, and more money to buy something? Retail stores should only exist for a few types of items. The rest can be bought online.

Remarkable! -
Why not? They're strong, powerful, popular, and good looking! Woot! Woot!

I even foresee a time when the halo effect will make my Apple II collection rise even more in price! Because old! Because retro!

Yeh, I don't know why some emulators even bother with that crap filtering. It's lazy, it's lame, it's cheap. And you see in the ugliness it makes. The end result is a subtractive look, regardless of what the math or programmer says.

Not sure a chip socket is needed. But it won't hurt..

Yes. But I still see this as a simulation.

I wonder if this can be used to improve emulation across the board, from MAME to Altirra?

Arcade Multicade Conversions, your thoughts on them

..which is why go for bartops or nice modern set top boxes. And even a NUC for my micro office. -
Any solution for the colour bleed caused by the composite mod?
Keatah replied to rednakes1's topic in Atari 2600
I would think it's a hit or miss depending how everything comes together and matches - like I said in post #3. I also believe that whatever minor OOT flaws present in the original machine are going to get amplified and highlighted by such mods. -
TLDNR To do all of that would not make it the "mini" anymore. Might as well release the whole console all over again. At full price.

Keatah replied to rednakes1's topic in Atari 2600
If it's disconnected, then just let it be. The way I'd take it out of circuit is by desoldering the connector entirely. Then setting aside the connector for possible future use. Removing the box will be hard unless you have something like a solder plate with a lot of thermal capacity. -
Nope. That isn't solder. That's simply stray adhesive. No harm there.

I know it doesn't help the OP. But I believe that these mods require that the VCS be in good health, good capacitors, no rust or corrosion or contaminants present. Proper routing of the wires away from noisy circuits. No out of tolerance parts. Rock solid power supply and regulator. A lot of things need to go right that the seller of the mod doesn't mention. And again, busting up the RF modulator board is just.. just.. I don't know WHAT it is. Plain old wrong.
