I had a dream about The Island of 26 Variables. And that was it! :D

    2. Keatah

      Keatah

Totally ridiculous.. You know damned well you can't have 26 variables!

      atari2600land

If there were 27 letters in the alphabet, would we have 27 variables?

  2. Ultimate Defrag from DiskTrix wiped out my friend's HDD. Praise da'lord that these types of utilities will become less relevant once SSD becomes commercially viable.

It's hard to tell who's to blame with defrag utilities. Most use fully legit system calls to move blocks. About as safe as you can get. The trouble lies with M$ not sharing exactly how NTFS works with 3rd parties. There could have been some corruption before defrag that wasn't/cound not of been unknown about. The defrag was just the last straw (and not the cause).

  3. I dreamed I was an amplifier with nothing to amplify. But soon enough I found myself and my mermaid were washing my car with glow-in-the-dark shop towels. It was all very fucked up to be sure. And what transpired after didn’t make any sense either.

I'm pretty sure a DMM is some kind of rectal thermometer.

I have similar problems with ebay buyers!

  7. Browsing fleabay at warp speed with my mouse wheel, smooth-scrolling off, drooling and foaming, hanging on the edge of my seat and jamming "take on me" by A-Ha! In the meantime my MicroModem is about to achieve near deity status. And I have no idea what's gonna happen next.

  8. My new mini-emulation-station. One screen has a pdf reader for docs and manuals and hi-score & notes, another has iTunes packed with 70's and 80's tunes, and the main screen runs the emulators themselves.

Sounds pretty good! One of these days I'm going to make a dedicated MAME cabinet also...or just buy one. :)

I saw that movie once, and I remember liking it, but it's been 20+ years since I saw it last.

The same writer/director who made this film, and who previously wrote "The Last Starfighter", would somehow go from this to writing and directing "Theodore Rex".

  13. A Slow Year, can you play it on Stella? My new emulation PC doesn't have CD-ROM.

Meteor wasn't a bad movie for it's day. I'm not sure how well it's held up, though.

There's something appealing about the cheesiness of 70's disaster movies. I watched Rollercoaster a few weeks ago. Terrible film, but I enjoyed basking in its badness.

  17. Wow.. Alan Parsons Project couldn't sell out an 800 seat theatre. Are they that bad or what?

I just found out Alan finally released The Sicilian Defense album. It was sort of a contractual middle finger. You can hear it on YouTube.
