Shit, this sucks, a lot. The VIC-20 35k/SD2IEC boards have arrived, and I decided to test fit one of the PCBs. It's stuck in there, won't come out no matter what I do.

Would you buy a new piece of hardware for your classic computer if in all probability little, if anything in the way of software would ever be made for it?

I would liked to have spent my long-overdue vacation playing Witcher 3 and bunch of other games on my new PC, but the power supplied died 4 days after getting it. Back to the store it goes, now I get to spend my weekend reinstalling everything I spent all last week installing

Too many new games, even for a 4-day-weekend. Between Dreamcast/Atomiswave, Evercade, Switch, and another NT Mini to sort out. Good problems to have.

Happy Thanksgiving, welcome Black Friday.

USPS delivered my package earlier than expected for the first time in my life, and right when I didn't want that to happen. Let me explain; my apartment's automated Package Concierge system charges $5 a night if a package isn't retrieved. I'm 350 miles from home until this Sunday, and 2 packages have already arrived with 2 more due before Sunday. They were supposed to arrive in December!

I just got a thorough tongue lashing for playing Atari and 1980s arcade titles. I was told to stop playing them, get rid of my collection, buy modern consoles and to "get with the times". Why are there such control freaks out there?

573,284 on Tempest 2000? Man am I rusty!

Whelp, hacking the Switch is a lot more difficult than hacking the 3ds.

My wife has been just discharged from hospital with a terminally ill prognosis for her lung cancer. 😪 Feeling bad.

For those that give a rat's ass, ebay has over 4,000 Apple II items for sale. Highest it's ever been. As are the prices too!

I EFFING HATE iPhones. Every time I get one to work on, I have problems doing even the simplest of things ... like transferring photos to the PC and deleting them off the phone. Why are Apple so bad at this?

I try not to get bogged down in specifications and features and ergonomics of any one specific phone. I settled in on the iPhone because of family and friends. I'm content in knowing the specs will improve over time because of Apple's competition and assertiveness and all that drives a corporation. It's all I need to know.
Like, see, if one phone has a 12MP camera and another a 14MP camera it doesn't bother me one microscopic iota. Or if one phone has 6 cores and 4 aux cores vs 8 cores and 2 aux cores - again it isn't a big deal. Battery life of 13 hours vs 12 hours? No sweat. Not a deciding factor.
They're all going to do what I need. And then some!

I don't do iCloud either. And I still get a DCIM folder popup, even with iOS 14.
When it comes to fones I don't want to fuck around with them. I just want them to work. I just want the basics. Text, camera, some news and weather apps, and the phone itself.
It's a communicating and information device. Nothing more.

The Apple II is more akin to Kim-1, Sym-1, Aim-65, and other single-board trainers than anything from Atari or C=.

The Wayback Machine is an absolute goldmine.
In other news, I'm starting to regret buying that CF adapter from a Chinese seller. Estimated arrival date is February.
I don't want an Amiga as much as I did a month ago but I still want one pretty damn bad.
I still want a PET as much as I did a month ago.
Excited to go back to the US. Mostly because I'll finally be able to use my Compaq laptops.
Sucks that Apple didn't include an assembler in the Apple //e. I have to spend money to enhance it or type in machine code in hex.
I think my computer preferences are getting older and older. I'm starting to get interested in the KIM-1, Altair, and minicomputers.
TRS-80s are awesome.
Also is it weird that I think Apple II's suck?
