I used to pull parts out of my Apple II when it was running. And then put them back in. Hoping to capture ghosts and erratic behavior like when HAL got deactivated.

Frying the carts doesn't seem good so I only do it with stella. And pulling out the card when it was on? I pulled a Videx Videoterm out of the II+ ten seconds after I powered it off and unplugged the power cable and the thing popped and smoked.

The way you fry cartridges in an emulator is to randomly flip bits in the rom, or do something in the debugger when its running. You never know what will happen. One time I got a second set of flippers in video pinball. wish I woulda saved the rom.
