  1. The Ghost of Flight 401 - can that happen with cars too?

If you have a Rolls-Royce, with three engines,

and if you are climbing outside the car to check a wheel,

and if nobody tells you about an approaching wall: yes

  2. The hammer is 1 meter away right now.

No. Yesterday it was quarter meter away. Today I fixed some driver issue, thus allowing the smash-it hammer to be positioned farther away. Maybe tomorrow it will be more than a meter away. We shall see.

  3. The hammer is about 0.25 meters away now. And getting closer.

  4. The hammer is now 0.2 meters away now. And still getting closer.

  5. The hell with Grand Theft Auto.. I want Grand Theft Aero!

  8. The internet is so full of nonsense. People ask tech questions. That is good. Then other people respond authoritatively with the answer they think is right. Without firsthand experience and confirmed knowledge, you should keep your frakking mouth shut. Quit spewing BS. If you wanna say something and are not sure, then say you are not sure - that's ok.

Sometimes, I think you are mad, other times, not so much.

Keatah himself is mad, but the voices are quite reasonable.

      Reaperman

I find the online 'tech support' forums for the home OSes severely lacking. I get better results when looking for the same answer to the server version of the OS. Otherwise, everybody will say "it's clearly malware, you need to reinstall." That's just noise.

  9. The internet is the world's biggest bullshit generator.

Here it is: "The Road to Wellville"

      http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111001/

(It was made in the 90s and starred Matthew Broderick, so by definition, it was a bad movie.)

Nurse Graves from that movie did an awesome nude scene. Total babe.

      Flojomojo

I love Road to Wellville! It's not a good film, but it's sorta-kinda historically accurate.

"My own stools, Sir, are gigantic and have no more odor than a hot biscuit."

More here, to give you a flavor:

  17. The last three motherboards I purchased said they were professionally repaired. But, there are still acid issues from those Vartabombs. Traces still need reworking. So much for professionalism today..

  18. The latest joke in the men's room at CERN. It's cool to cross the streams. As long as the balls don't touch, it's not gay.

We've boosted the Anti-Mass Spectrometer up 200 percent, nothing to worry about, I'm sure it's nothing.

  19. The lights are down low, the air is still, background task ftp mirroring in progress, emulator rig is in standby with just the VCS' anti burn-in flickering. Maybe I'll just read a book.

  20. The mass of plaque, bacteria, concentrated mucous, and decayed food and skin. It all combined into an odor that was like unlike anything I smelled before, the demon hellstench of a tonsil stone.

  21. The Microsoft ecosphere is not the place for today's young and creative minds. OSX & iOS is where they belong!

    1. Keatah

      Keatah

And yet at the same time, I see that kids' activities in the Apple ecosphere consists more of consumption than it does in Windows..

I think it's more for the parents' sake. Makes them feel like junior is accomplishing something? ..when in reality he's just consuming media at a hyperspeed pace.

The fake moon set is still there? I thought they broke that whole thing down a couple of decades ago and sold it to a D-list director?

I've only read 393 pages of comments...Until I read 400 or more pages I don't think I can make an informed decision.

    2. jaybird3rd

      jaybird3rd

I would agree, except that I was already close to 100% convinced that it would flop, so it would be hard at this point to feel "more convinced."

  24. The most highly developed and funded AI research is done by Goldman Sachs on WallStreet. Their AI programs are designed to be amoral, secretive, parasitical, predatory, ruthless, and utterly insatiable.

    1. MrMaddog

      MrMaddog

Corporations are entities of the state that live & breath due to economic cash flow. It's a matter of time before AI's not only run corporations in place of people but 'become' the corporate entities themselves...

    2. Keatah

      Keatah

That would be cool. Maybe they will be better run and be able to equally cater to the small guy as well as the big pockets. To them a tiny calculation would be the same as a big calculation.

  25. The new ProDOS update for Apple II.. It solved a long-standing problem I had and is thoughtful in the utilities it provides. Get it today!

    1. Osgeld

      Osgeld

yes it is nice to have a disk with some of the most used utilities ready to go on it

    2. Keatah

      Keatah

I think DOS 3.3 is equally important and should have a similar set of tools - if less integrated.
