  1. GB camera for what it was, and when it was at that price was pretty amazing and deserves some credit. But hey, want to have a little fun with a few minute read and some amazing images? Check out this dude 2 years ago 3D printed an attachment to add on a telephoto lens to the device and well -- results, look. http://ekeler.com/game-boy-camera-canon-ef-mount https://www.engadget.com/2018-06-04-game-boy-camera-canon-lens-converter.html
  2. I'd call Mario Sunshine Nintendo's sonic treatment of the series. Bad ideas, control and camera problems, unsteady difficulty curve, all flash and flair but not much substance. A big ass mistake in a solid (mostly) line of games going back to the 80s. I kind of blocked it from my memory and got a bad flashback of it all flooding back about an hour into the damn game on Switch. I have little to no interest to bother with it anymore, it's just not great, and I fight wanting to even call it good due to all its technical problems. It's no Sonic CD or turning into a werewolf, let alone a collision and camera nightmare like Sonic Heroes and most since were either, but it's straight up damaged goods.
  3. With that logic, then also adventure island (takahashi meijin) would be another possibility as well as it was established between arcade, nintendo and gameboy as well too just like Bonk(not arcade.)
  4. Did you find the original dimensions online of the cabinet? I hope you're going to scale. If you are, you could actually build something that's damn near identical to an original. Joe Szabo online sells full on vinyl wrap/SNK art kits for MVS cabinets so you can get those wraps for your cabinet and have it look as good as original as people who have real cabs in bad shape restoring the use his 1:1 quality stuff. He also has control panel overlays and more. Depending how far you take it, you could make a mostly authentic MVS 1 slot cabinet other than the age of the wood structure not being decades old.
  5. Yeah I have been doing it on GBA since they had kits that needed a usb cable jacked into it, or into a dock you pop the game in to flash stuff using special software. PocketNES forever. I still use it on my Omega when the feeling is there to bother. Yet on there, the screen is compressed as it is with SMB1 on GBA's NES Classics series. Plays right, mostly looks right other than the compression shimmer, sounds great, and can save it whenever.
  6. Same here, I setup email notes, but I'm sitting here listening/watching stand up and almost forgot. It's just a short one stage demo that the boss doesn't even fight, but it's interesting. The bancho / yakuza looking streets of rage mash up is even more fun, kind of an endless runner as the stage just repeats but they get smarter and hurt more each time. I had no idea the roms were just sitting there to use, good move. The Humble Bundle for Neo Geo 5 years ago was the same, stand alone emulators with a zip file in the install that has the pure ROM dumps from the SNK boards. Legally I do own Twinkle Star Sprites, Iron clad and the other 20~. Less than a dollar a game there too, far better than $600 on TSS legit on a board. I just got a snk board conversion with a flashed copy of TSS, technically illegal, but given I own the ROMs and have a receipt...
  7. I don't either. They should just keep re-opening preorder windows, then they can find out how much hardware to actually make to sell through. It's a common practice done a long time in the game industry on the game side. Atlus did it best, but even bigger companies on specific titles did it too like Capcom with DS Ace Attorney games. You choose to do say a 100k run, when it's out, you see how much whining is online, and then run up another 20k copies, and if they go, do another or maybe half that. You get everyone who wants one a game(or in this case, preorder on a system) so that you're not stuck with unsold inventory but also not leaving tens of thousands if not more in profit on the table for dickless scalpers.
  8. Fair enough, just wanted you (or anyone) to know where that was coming from so I explained it. I knew Nintendo was up to something early on, maybe late 80s, I just didn't care because I was using their stuff so it gave me more variety to choose from. Sure it would have been nice had more of those developers did games for Sega at the time, but sometimes I also think if they had to split their resources it would have left for less to go around on the Nintendo console and handhelds too which would have sucked. And yes I do agree, it was good Sega did that at least the right way to break their back on the grips a few years into the Genesis life. I'm not big on exclusives, unless they're made by a 1st or 2nd party, that's expected, encouraged, as it gives purpose to own a device. But to pull a stunt like a timed delay (like RE4 for GC, then a year later PS2 Capcom announces it severely as a middle finger), or where a game is just bought out/stuck there (like Half Life pulled from DC for PS2) that's crap. Honestly yes I think Sega would have been better off had they parroted the Nintendo ads instead of directly cutting lies against them while dual insulting gamers for being too stupid, too childish, or color blind(game gear) to want to use Nintendo systems. Earlier Sega had on the genesis a heap of garbage and little high quality that wasn't an arcade port, but once they started having the goods they could have ran solid ads like Nintendo did, lots of footage, play up the qualities of the system with some weird quirky junk around it. Those ads in the day before we had internet, youtube, and talking head online shills with instant upload updates really moved games. Oh and the 3DS, I've had a love/boredom run with it. I'm an ambassador, sold it for that new model and later sold it and the games, then helped a friend buying his system, and bored again. But I realized it's better to have it, enjoy the strange stuff and later missed games, than not at all. It can happily sit for months, then get use, it's all good. And yeah...those feelings can last. I still get aggravated seeing those lying old sega ads. The same thought I had in the day calling them on their shit about speed with Sonic vs Mario Kart I brought up. SNES had a game that ran the same pace as sonic, even if it wasn't as detailed, but Road Runner Death Valley Rally is speedy, just less detailed/colorful either due to the hardware or by design given it mimics an old WB cartoon.
  9. I do, but I don't have the issue. I did go ahead and attempt it, that is a pretty thin, very thin flimsy rubber ring that pops into place on there. I could see that being the entire issue if something got up under there while sitting in a dock or thrown into a place where dust or fuzz could get into that and cause it to freak out.
  10. Using a PC wired controller version of the 360 pad and it works just fine, at least as much as I think the limited game you have there is intending to.
  11. Seriously? Does that really work? I had no idea that was a rubber cover down there. I could see how stuff could get inside having it designed that way, but if that really can fix a number of them that's a life saver having to spend the money to crack it open and put a new part in there.
  12. Your wager would be lost. I've enjoyed the Star Wars arcade games enough, but this one, even if marginally, it is better. I already think I said what my problems were with it, but also, let's be honest that EA just sucks. They shovel out unfinished, or at (being nice) unpolished stuff. There already have been a few updates to make things run better, fairer, bug fixes, the works. If I could remove some of the forced popups that stop actual flight to make you learn the buttons vs the casual reminder boxes the game would be so much better. It's also a prissy bitch about where it allows you to go, it's on a track, don't think it's not, because if you stray you'll get mowed down in seconds with an intentional kill shot. That's my problems with it, story mode at least, not touch the rest and not sure I want to since I don't get that asinine drift mechanic they shoved in there and I bet the live players probably love spamming it. I'm an excellent pilot for dogfighting stuff with online console games and some PC have been for decades, not the best, but not a loser or pack middling either, and I'm not convinced with the wonky drift mechanics and some other oddball choices in control I'd do very well even with my solid stick I have (ch products fighterstick usb.) All I can do is compare to what they so called strive to meet or exceed, which they largely did fail at, which are the X-Wing+addon and TIE Fighter + addon packages from the 1990s. The games make me want to even put down newer stuff I need to do, and go back to play those to wash some of the bad taste out of my mental mouth over the complaints I had above. If you're a solid pilot in those old games, you could fly wherever in a campaign (around getting your primaries failed) and go after secondary and tertiary targets for more points/promotions/medals. I could take an x-wing and take a long while and whittle down a cruiser, frigate, or even a cap ship and succeed. In SWS though, if I dare attempt to go near one, when it's not a primary objective, it's damn near insta-kill. Like really of all the numerous targets out there, every laser on a star destroyer of mon calamari ship will suddenly ignore them and fire off one volley at me...bullshit. Those old games won't lock the entire game up and demand even if it takes 20 repeats to do some stupid move to learn it, or fail you from completing the mission let alone even flying further in it...also bullshit. I like and hate the game, I play it one or two nights a week to roll the story along until I get my fill. If it was as well designed as what was done over 25 years ago, I'd be through with it and going nuts on people online.
  13. Bomberman 2 aside, I'd agree with this as it would be a fantastic bundle for a handheld like that with all those little black box titles. Sure Mario would be a re-run, but I think it would make an incredible package with solid variety. If we're talking the GBC version since the first post said that's allowed I'd agree with you. The old NES one is a tad rough right down to all the manual annoyances with menu based stair taking and door use, and it's rotten save method is very anti-pick up and play.
  14. I'm curious if a jailbreak will hit the Duo and/or the pocket duo add-on device. I mean I already have an everdrive but it would be sweet to pull off some form of digital copies of their optical games.
  15. Yeah I'm aggravated about the Pocket system. Now they're trying to push a NEC module for it, and even if that did come up for pre-order, what's the point if you can't get the system that'll use it?! I want to get in on this run of NEC stuff but it's looking painful. I don't care to get into optical, rather have the handheld, and if I needed to go TV with it, there will be a dock.
  16. If you could get some printing agreement for Retro Gamer to publish/print that in the NA (US) market for them, consider me a day one sign up when you take that first issue to print. I dislike strongly the problems they have getting their stuff here and at the even higher costs and that was before virus, now it's even worse trying to just find a random issue.
  17. Yeah on a IP to IP basis they act like one, not that they actually ARE one though as a company. They seem to really nail down a game, maybe two for a franchise on most of their IP and then it's like they fall off a cliff. So that's why i said one trick pony as like you get in the music industry something like Jenny 867-5309, that's all that dude is really known for who sang that, and purposefully I'm not saying who to drive that home. They do have a select few that really do hit a consistent note, but most, they just crumble which is sad. I didn't say all their stuff, just most of their IP over decades of work going back to the 80s, so so few seem to maintain a consistent quality and sales, or increase, you'll get a game or two, then off the cliff like a lemming. Yet you're right, you do have their newer stuff like Yakuza and Valkyria made in the 21st century that seem to keep on chugging dodging that slide. As far as their US based ads go sure I'll take the bait probably so you can feel like it's self fulfilling prophecy. Humiliate? Never had that happen, nor did I Feel it watching the ads. Honestly, you know what they did? Even as an early teenager when it started, it pissed me off. Sure a part of it was the fact I was using Nintendo product, but honestly, even larger companies who lie or largely stretch the truth, insulting the consumers intelligence and choices, so they can sell a product gets to me. That whole campaign for years with originally Nintendon't into mocking the SNES for having no games or somehow how Sonic vs Mario Kart was fair to show how crappy and slow SNES was with a broken cart belching smoke to drive it home the point. Because of that, I didn't directly throw any money at Sega for their products until the mid/later 90s when I eventually got a Nomad and started buying a few games/supplies off their web sales site then. I did have earlier a Genesis 3 and also a Game Gear, second hand, and the games were too, I wasn't going to give them shit. I have the same attitude with Pepsi due to their lying immature anti-Coke ads trying to dupe people into their chem-wash swill they call cola, hell I still won't drink a pepsi. The only console I ever gave Sega money for, Dreamcast, a couple weeks after it came out in late September. I had the same attitude with the dirt Sony flung, so I didn't even have a PS1 or PS2 until 2001. Point is, it's not anti-Sega, it's anti-lying asshole to sell product, it's dishonorable. I for one do like Sega, and enjoy their games more than I do not. Despite my anti-Genesis sentiment in the 90s due to their rotten behavior, I never wrote them off, nor did it stop me from playing their arcade games or buying their other stuff second hand either. I still buy their stuff, the other night I grabbed up some steam sales of theirs including their one day offers, both Sonic Adventures, Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, as they're solid fun. My brother used to work for them even during the Sega Sammy period until they hit a hard time and he had to move to the next opportunity. They are a good company and have lots of nice stuff, enough variety to find a few things to like. I'm not sure what this is all about a Sega deathwatch, but if you think he's wanting that, that's fine, but I don't.
  18. Yeah I know they did, I do have their black SuperNT. It may re-appear, even the NES did after so long. Seems there's less desire for Sega, that MG of theirs still is openly for immediate sale/shipping, no preorder on that one strangely.
  19. I had a weak moment, bought Sega and Steam games at that. I couldn't resist having Sonic Adventure 1+2 again, or Crazy Taxi for fast pick up and play, and Jet Set Radio too. Also noticed they so grossly discounted the Sega Genesis Collection to where each game costs just 13 cents, so that too. If you don't count each little genesis game individually, I like made my steam library grow by like maybe 50% due to that, and the freebies like NIGHTs and so far Endless Zone.
  20. I'm concerned, I really don't want to have to fight bots and trolls, but at $50 I don't even want to begin to guess what those pieces of garbage will try and upsell it for especially with Christmas just a bit over a month after. It will be prime time abuse... $300...$500? More?!
  21. I'm wanting to be on board with this. To get the core grafx mini it's going to set me back probably $130-150 easy due to ebay sponging or import costs. This would be ideal, but at the same time I don't really use my TV much for games, mostly my computer and my handhelds so the CG2 I have rots mostly. I dislike the analogue pocket due to all the added expenses to get the feature set, but I also really hate they seemingly don't care to make it available enough for people to actually buy one, so it's like what's the point in a $30 adapter if it has nothing to lock it into?! I'd love to have that TG pocket. The way I see it, a dumpster fire mess of an old PCE GT for 2-300 easily, then notably more to get a good LCD installed into it too. Or you eat $230 on the pocket and TG adapter, and that pocket does all things Nintendo gameboy branded too. Kind of seems stupid to even care about the GT other than you can get one, easily, whenever. I put myself on mail notice on the system, better than nothing since the handheld is damn near vaporware.
  22. Well yeah, that should be enough expected. More and more enter the market as kids, teens, adults...they'll get wow'd maybe once or twice, (not being snotty but sounding like it) without knowing better of what's in their past, and then like other decades worth of generations they get spent and move. As long as they pump them out with a muted budget knowing they can find another million or so generation of buyers along with some of those being those hoping for a return to greatness they can keep pumping them out.
  23. Honestly the more I think about it, the more I feel that Sega is kind of a repeat offender as far as franchises go in a way. They mostly are a one trick pony developer and the times they try and extend something into sequels, usually they'll get away with 1, 2 tops, and then it's into the toilet as far as further interest. Yes it's a blanket statement, and yes I suppose you could make a few rarer exceptions like the Shining series but that one at least smartly diversified beyond just strategy RPG into even a couple of really well made Diablo clones on GBA, and then Phantasy Star. But Sonic went from great to dumpster fire with just some well spread out glimmers of decency at best. I for one liked Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, but the games after, nope, including Mania which borderline annoyed and bored me to death so I dumped it (had it on Switch.) Maybe they're best at large story driven stuff, at least for consistently pumping out stuff that lasts for quality fun.
  24. Wow what a scumbag. If you're already taking that one bit of feedback, take that image supplied of the conversation there with another seller who got taken for a ride by that ass. They can check their records going back decades, so digging up this routine of his would take moments at best. That said, I still more so agree with Shawn. He's right, your description was basically bluntly put, crap, crap to the level you were asking for it from a dickless clown like that. Sure you can see the rip, kind of, in that one first image, but even then it's not entirely clear. It's also not an edge on shot that shows the true level of the rip and crumpling of the art cover sleeve or the plastic either. Combine that with just calling it as you did with that weak minimalist one liner about it having no manual but good, was begging for being marked for attack by scum. All that you would have needed to avoid this entirely was one added line saying a one sentence detail explaining the level of damage on the problem he called out, and adding that added image of it edge on to show it. He'd have NOTHING to stand on, not even with ebay's loving will to screw sellers to keep buyers happy, would this have played out with him winning. Sure he may have been able to piss about the cost on the shipping, but if you just keep records on what you paid to ship it vs what you charged, that covers that up too making the freebie truly not cost him anything.
  25. I wasn't clear, is like that Golden Axed proto that's playable one you can keep or it's a timed play and you're done? I signed up for the email spam, worth it at the least for Nights as I'll never own a Saturn again. I really wish they'd put their other Win95 era stuff on Steam as I'd be all over buying to own again Sega Rally, Sega Touring Car, Daytona USA, etc.
