  1. Close enough, left out a few people but that's good enough, we're all bad since we're not in agreement. Join the naughty list, you know you want to. It would be an inceptional thing to do.
  2. If we're going to ride the Phantasia audio explosion, we must go here with the good reason that cart is so freaking huge... enjoy the opening. And while I'm at it, I know someone here might not be aware, someone redid the game in english, even the opening quote and song no less in english as well for the fan translation. Respect big time for those who pull this one off, it's nuts. I just own the GBA release so I've never taken a crack at the original, sadly just never saw a good reason to because by the time I could have, the GBA game was a thing. That said, I wouldn't mind buying one of these, an original cart, with the chips replaced using the US/english speech song and all patch as it would be a real trip and I bet costly too..
  3. Had an interesting day today. My kid gifted me something she drew freehand and then painted... Pikachu! It's over my desk now. Went out a bit today, had a limited time, but went into this goodwill and shockingly saw this stuff and combined was $10 ($5 were in the plastic case, the case was mine the contents were in a zip bag.) The mini pops are the 2021 funko pop pokemon adveent calendar contents which was interesting. What's a surprise, the Revolutionary Girl Utena case, it's a sushi/snack case for $3. The top pops off to show 2 black chopsticks, the bottom is red and pops off for a little plate/tray, and the middle opens to space that has a spacer you can place along it or pop out...and those 3 mystery keychain things were in there I can not identify at all. Then frogger was just $2...had 3 new AAs inside so that's a win either way, but yeah it works, and oddly fun.
  4. @-^CrossBow^- So this newest flex cable GG LCD kit is more rock solid, that's good to know so look for a black/blacker cable on that. But is it easier to install than the older ones where you had to have fine wires and a steady hand to like solder 4+ wires to the various pins on the edge of the board for when the old screen was there? That was a big reason I didn't, those tiny spaces drive me nuts...little bit shaky hands causes problems on finer stuff. :\ As of now I'm not even certain I want to do it anymore, have the GG adapter alone for the Mega Sg so I mean...tv play. But if I wanted to chill somewhere with it, the GG is the portable.
  5. No problem, hope many of you who care about sega, except Bill...he'd be a drag on it...will use that link as it's a solid group of people there.
  6. @Bloodreign Yup, thanks. You're right, and this has to be BizarroKirk, nothing else fits given the rampant fanboyism, gaslighting, rapid fire prattling posts about circular nonsense and deflection. This checks so many boxes I'm wondering...is it? I guess I just wasted the last hour or so because I need to get rid of my things, damn and I just got up to the 3rd or 4th town in Sword of Vermilion too, got the best armors and magics, then saved it, but hey not for me right? Bill is a moron, I'm calling out a moron for acting like one writing as he has saying he's acting like he's deep in the kool-aid, and despite all the evidence around this site...something makes ME the fanboy here the sega hater and Nintendo fellater.... right. You can't argue with stupid, and arguing with stupid makes you stupid as it drops your IQ points. Maybe we should just ignore him, I mean, not like put it in a signature as a badge of dishonor, or even officially on the site because that's pointless with a troll as they'll keep going in circles anyway. This is the way of the BizarroKirk. Because we didn't live in his little bubble of a community that perhaps had his way of thought and reality over time, that makes us the enemy clearly.
  7. Hahaha we're fanboys because we don't agree with your generally unaccepted form of unreality...right. It's not being a fanboy, you just have some chip on your shoulder for some sad reason. As I said, it's local, and just because you happened to have if you are being honest that story for your area doesn't mean everyone else has the same one or they're fanboys. Grow up.
  8. Wow one of numbnuts the banned games he would pop up on occasion to get attention with spam. I ignored it implicitly because of that clown, but now i'm looking at that itchio account and that looks pretty solid. Shame it only got a 100cart run, not that someone won't boot it as stuff is now, but hey the rom is out there and it's nice he's that sharing all things considered. I may just have to fire this up when I get some time and try it, been awhile since I did snes since I can't find games for it locally anymore it seems I'd actually play.
  9. The age issue is slowly becoming an issue. I got a copy of Gyruss off a local business(I'm on first name basis/friendly with the owner) and the cHR chip is lightly fubar, he has another beat up copy, going to swap the boards after work today. I tried to nicely clean it, then aggressively, then reflowed all the chips ...still little square glitches on every tile with some color on it. I have moderate soldering skill, have fixed dead carts, this one is a wash and I don't have a spare gyruss around or crap game with a compatible board or I'd have tested that too. The cart itself was immaculate outside and seemingly in, manual nice too, so going to keep it. I saw the ebay rates on AVS those losers are disgusting since it's up for sale. I had considered one of them, but I just can't pop for it as things are now, a year ago I might have despite the fact I have the kevtris core HiDef NES Kit in a top loader, because still, the top loader is from the mid90s, anything but new. I have 2 honeybee adapters for famicom games on that end, and I have a stock AV Famicom as well for my little color monitor too. I tried that cart on both systems as I have a 60 to using 72pin game adapter for the JP console. Scoreboard is dead.
  10. Right there were two of the three valid key reasons the GB decimated the competition despite the screen, the one you left out being the obscene battery life. If you're not old enough to get the impact, it never will quite make sense unless you're a rarer breed with one hell of a steel trap imagination to pretend NOTHING existed after X handheld and X game on said handheld arrived to do it. We had the NES, the Genesis was a fart in the wind even really at that point, the Game Gear wasn't yet either but soon (with all its problems, but in color.) The only valid comparison to like 90% of those who had consoles was the NES...and this was literally a handheld NES. If you look at the launch games, they were like all black box titles or near there, but shortly very shortly after there was Mega Man looking like NES Mega Man, Gargoyle's Quest intricate detail and audio matching and exceeding Ghosts n Goblins, Gradius in the hand, Castlevania ...ehh still it was enough for 1989. It was nuts being able to take a handheld black and white NES on the go, that was the big one, right with the battery. SO what if you had to use a flashlight in your mouth or balanced, or got one of those kits as is above...it worked.
  11. @Bloodreign So going by DC comics logic, it's BizarroInceptional(Kirk) Both from the same likely place, both with a terminal case of fanboyheaduptheass-itis.
  12. That looks like a solid well done emulator, makes me sad there just isn't one for generic Windows/PC use which sucks other than really the decade old vbjin. I know mednafen has a corner for it, but that emulator is a dumspter fire of pure pain with it's archaic command line functions and variables just to load a basic rom... shame no one ever hacked it to add a GUI. I've tried using a couple outside projects at a GUI they never worked either. :\
  13. I think I have that cheap heal spell, seems to give a good number of shots even where I am outside Parma going through the Troy cave. I'm thinking of giving it another shot (been days due to work) today, maybe clear that as I'm curious how the boss fight works since it's another unique mechanic. Damn that's sleazy. I think the free one was pirates or something. I'm thinking I may download it again for that one and see how it goes.
  14. Well you really didn't miss much. He was there and then just not. True to his quality of existence, his exit was best compared to a lingering fart. Even after that last thunderclap of an ignorant stink hole of his warbled off, the smell lingered for a bit and as it dissipated people figured out he got removed and fresher air was on the back end when reality hit. Funny(not) you mention the rpg, boss, younger bit. I still get ticked off a little in my mind over that. Took me months when it was brand new to knockoff FF1 on NES. Came home the next day, finished home work, fired up my game, and found that the ending I did the night before WAS GONE. The kid goes in while I'm busy, decides a genre he hated and those like it in a way (Zelda) was worth a try and made a new save over my game and decided nope...still don't like this. Asskicking ensued, and given the efforts involved I didn't get in trouble as it was a disrespect. Never have finished that original run of the game ever since. Given the FFpixel remaster is just the old style system and all, odds are I may yet.
  15. No that doesn't sound familiar, and you want lazy... when square-enix did their once in a 12-24 month because they're dicks sale on digital I grabbed the FF Pixel Remasters on ios. I'm currently enjoying FF4 with a barely touched FF1 start on that too. THanks to the fact that you can use a bluetooth controller, my roku tv does airplay with no lag, and well it's my phone -- it's making those games VERY accessible whenever, wherever. Also nice to see FF3 FC get a legit english 2D release as those remasters reset many variables back to their original style, so like FF1 has the weird turns per level magic, no MPs like the refined copies did on PS1/GBA etc (which sucks but I can accept it.) Also working when time is on my side not doing the double job days on sword of vermilion, and it's unique zelda 1/2 style play with a jrpg/dungeon crawler style map setup makes it oddly more engaging too. I still just want some AI driven DM to give me some form of D&D/Pathfinder whatever it is style play where like FFPM i can just do it, whenever, wherever without barriers. As far as any books go, Fighting Fantasy is something at least, one of the books is even free to bait people on mobile. But again it's adults choose your own adventure basically.
  16. I never watched Spongebob when it was new, not really sure why since all ages seemed to love it because it was made just in a way where both kids got it and adults got the dirty humor that was suited just right so no kid would catch it making it 'safe.' It's fun, I'll catch it when the mood suits, and my wife hates the character and ate the lies online that watching it medically as reported can make you dumber (some old wived bullshit story that's probably 20 years old now.) My kid likes it seeing it in pieces elsewhere, so since she kind of proved it was nothing new to her we used to stream it in the car as a little secret. We knocked off at least the first 5-7+ seasons of it over months. I just never buy licensed games as almost always they're universally crap with a high point being mediocrity. But Bikini Bottom seemed to have some developers who cared, cared like Rare did with Goldeneye to do the IP justice and the fact it ranks very high, got a remaster that also ranked very well too, that says a lot.
  17. That's just rough as have most peoples use of the thing who wanted to use anything but stock cards. :\ I still wish I got one, and not at the same time (and I'm at not) at least from them. What they did with the rampant lies at this rate clearly either refusing to fix or showing utter incomptence with the pocket, in particular the dock, and how they screwed people with the adapters on price and how to get vs how it was pitched, comedically loaded high shipping and handling rates... They're complete a-holes. I would use a pocket again, but I'd buy it from somewhere else as they deserve no more money.
  18. I've done the same with my now 12 year old, so she has been playing for more than half her life. I think she was like 6 when I scored a local pickup with the intent of most of it going to her, the original owner a 20 something redhead girl who had a berry GBC with like 10 games, I just kept Pokemon Crystal and Resident Evil(game sucks sadly, sold it, still have Crystal) since she couldn't read it and well the M rating. She got a lot of use out of it even at her age and its robustness kept it safe until a weird accident a couple years later on a hardwood floor on just the right spot to crack the shell (which I just replaced.) Later got her spare GBA SP of mine to use, my mother gave her a DSlite she had for awhile and rarely used, and she has used my old systems and also enjoyed my arcade/pinball stuff as it came and gone (still have the neo geo.) Yet she loves her Switch as much if not more so she's good on whatever medium and it's not just 'old junk.'
  19. I just have to ask, what's the story behind those banners as it seems like so many makers have a stake there. Nintendo, Midway, Namco, Capcom, etc.
  20. I never had that tape thing, I have had some of those TSR books which are classic D&D done in a largely choose your own adventure style which worked out pretty well, but it was lacking the creativity, randomness as much, and largely the dice mechanics. The NES thing looks solid, just kind of wish a FULL APP were made if you don't have room/time for stupid cards and junk. It's not like iOS is so crusty you can't tab a sheet, shake the phone for dice rolls, and let some adaptive program (ai) screw with you or be your buddy as the pseudo-DM. I mean you see the crap chat gpt etc do, a 10th (100th) of its intelligence would be more than enough for some D&D clone.
  21. That's where I am at. I have places I can still hit on the way to where I'm going daily, and I make a little time on a weekend day too to look as much just to get out (games, anime, ?) I am attempting Sword of Vermilion at the moment due to that find, but, usually it's largely the fast to go Famicom (and NES), then Genesis as of late with something random thrown in I can get satisfaction out of in 15-60min. If I have a bit more time I have been at a tiny pace been chipping away at FF10/10-2 HD on Steam since I'm already on here it's not hard to just grab the controller as it's lower effort.
  22. That's kind of how Genesis was around my area too, those who were dumb kids who ate the marketing and chugged that side of kool-aid of lies that went on once SNES appeared basically were it, and they stood their ground. Many though would come back around and still buy NES games because they had it if they didn't stupidly sell it off to get Sega. Others who could afford an entire other system saw and heard what SNES did and liked the added button options and jumped ship to just bail on sega or let it get dusty between quality titles like some konami etc games. It was basically this gap system for many where it bought time for another or eventually went into disuse to go back or to get it on with their first girlfriend. It's like the GB to GBA that GBC handheld was ok, a boost, but not a true boost in some ways while it was in others. Honestly though I think it's more the insufferable genesis guys that still can't take the L after 30 years who do it more than Nintendo fans. I see more of them ragging on this or that or hanging themselves on sports and shooters, as if that's a big thing to do decades of reruns over. It's why I appreciate someone like SegalordX on YT because he had both, and he isn't a deluded idiot fanboy. He will squarely blacken the genesis eye where it needed it while praising when it did right as well as it was his #1 system but SNES took a solid nipping at the heels 2, and I think in later years was the 1 as the Genesis kind of faded quality wise.
  23. https://discord.gg/J3G8Qkxv Try that?
  24. I see that seems to be finally some sort of DM software to a D&D wannabe type design and it works on mobile, web, or nes? It would be sweet if that was all just in the app alone and you could tab between cards etc. I mean they want to sell them I know, but even then they give the entire set away as a printable PDF file as well...go figure.
  25. I used to keep a list, and then it got me feeling bad. Then I tried to break it up over recovered games I'd replay again, and new stuff I'd just play for the first time... and that didn't help. Then I started to realize it wasn't happening and started offloading games, then entire systems and games. I quit keeping a list, but I do see things on the shelf and can categorize them. And in some cases they're point games, not finishing games so those kind of get a free pass for random use too so it just gets weird. For just never finished stuff the Switch alone isn't kind: Crash nSane Trilogy, 2016 Doom, Dragon Quest 11S, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Kirby Return to Dreamland, ZeldaTears(never happening), Pokemon Arceus and Lets go Pikachu, Mario Odyssey(I got bored) and Wonder, and the 2 volumes of the Valis packs. And then if you get into remasters/releases you'll add in Metroid, Quake, Links Awakening, Mario Kart 8, Doom, 2 Cotton games I have, Mario RPG, Mario 3D Allstars with mario U deluxe, Bloodstained and red dead redemption. THose remasters I got mostly to poke at for fun finished them years ago on their older releases. Now if I threw the GBA GBC GB, NES/FC, SNES/SFC, N64 into the mix along with GG and Genesis/MD... I'd have a real problem, so I don't so that'll be the example I leave. My time is limited, more limited if too tired to care so I mostly play until i got to the next, the end screen is a rare perk.
