14 hours ago, Nuclear Pacman said:For loose carts, all the labels look to be in good condition. Fortunate for the Parker Brothers games as well, as those tend to get dead adhesive when not boxed. And, when it comes to the 5200, just about any collection of games will be good games to play as well, very few stinkers in that library.
Yeah, the carts are in good condition, I make sure of that when I'm purchasing them (mostly from eBay) so long as I can help it.

But you have already the best games for the 5200.
I like the system, too. Unfortunately it was not available in Europe when I was a kid.
I've got Montezuma's Revenge on the way, but Moon Patrol was a great arcade game. I'll check it out, thanks for the suggestion!

Good LORD dude, that is an AMAZING collection!!!
DEMON ATTACK!!! That was one of my favorite games on the 2600!!! My brother, who was 4 years older than me, he loved it too, but he called it "Guano Attack"...lol.
Haunted House, Yar's Revenge, Adventure, Custer's Revenge (sorry, that's a joke) and Asteroids round out the list of my fav's on the 2600.
Great stuff dude!!!

All of them work just fine. I had a "hiccup" with Mountain King that I had to replace, and the original cart purchased was refunded.
I'm waiting for MONTEZUMA'S REVENGE to arrive, so that'll bring me up to 22 carts. I recently acquired DONKEY KONG for the 5200, and, as both a 5200 and a ColecoVision, the homebrew 5200 reigns supreme for a multitude of reasons and observations.
Here is my original post when I joined this community. Lots of fun, and the condition of the 5200 that I got is more or less brand new (I lucked out on that one!!!) Additionally, I've been very, VERY CAREFUL to purchase carts, the trak-ball, and whatnot for this system that are in pristine condition. Look at the condition this 5200 is in (in the quoted thread below). I've never seen ONE 5200 that looks this good on eBay, Amazon, or if you want to sell your soul, HELL.
It is a privilege to be a part of this community. While I've not been here in quite some time, I intend to stick around, and hope to make some good friends. Ok, so, I'll shut my trap and let you cats have a say.

Not the best collection, but I'd say 2/3rds of that collection was mine when I owned this 5200 in the seventh grade. Feel free to comment.

PM Albert about Millipede. He can make you a cart. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/254437-millipede-5200/?p=3555676
Oh wow, that's beautiful. Al, if you see this post, don't worry about the pics of the labels....

Just spent a few minutes playing Millipede with the wonderful 5200 Trak-Ball controller. Really plays great, although wish I could modify the sensitivity of the Trak-Ball (like you can do with a mouse on your computer), as i'd make it a bit faster.. Here's a photo I just took of a cart:

Whoops, just saw this! Beautiful!!!

I've sent you a PM.

Hi guys, I know that there are some great homebrew games in the AtariAge store (Adventure II, Pac-Man Arcade & Sinistar look mighty tempting), but I am looking especially for Donkey Kong & Millipede. Does anyone know where I can find these games? I've looked all over eBay but to no avail.
Thank you in advance and look forward to your replies. Long live Atari!

Is the Atari 5200 homebrew version of Donkey Kong available anywhere?
-
Try cleaning the cart slot on your 5200. And also get some deoxit for the troubled games.
Yeah, but only these 2 do it.
Ah, I see. Yup, sounds like your issue is the two carts, not the hardware as I suggested above. I was drinking when I made that post, so I digress. Good to hear that the rest of your collection works!

Dude that is a totally AWESOME score. What did you pay for it, if you don't mind me asking?

Nice collection indeed
Thank you good sir. Mountain King and the extension cables just came in today! I can't wait to play that game, I had it in '84 and simply loved it.
-
Any other games exhibit this behavior?
This.
I have Pengo for my A52, and it works just fine...
It sounds like your 5200 may be the culprit. How many games for the A52 do you have, and which ones, specifically? This is important, as the idea is to eliminate the cartridge stuff and focus on the hardware...This is NOT easy, and may come as a shock. Find out, making SURE your other A52 games work, and I'd think that, with all of these people in this forum, you'd be get to help, or FIX this issue.
Happy gaming.

Hi guys, I do not want to double-post, so please see my collection in the link below which was posted in "Introductions". It includes my 5200 console, games & peripherals. In addition, I have 3 games coming in the mail - Mountain King, Q*Bert & DigDug, and images of these will be posted when they arrive.

Oh, for those of you who give a smurf, I posted as a new member in the introductions thread as an Atari 5200 owner. However, I used to own a ColecoVision, and SPACE PANIC was one of my favorite games on any console.

-
Too bad Coleco didn't release a game called Super Action Hand Ball as the seller would have had a field day describing that game.
Dude, that gave me a great chuckle!!!

-
It's not in the store right now, but I'd be glad to make you a cart with a nice label. I will send you a PM.
Yes, the game does have Trak-Ball support.

Hello! I am new here, but would love to know if you can still make a Millipede cartridge, and what it would look like, and how much would it cost? Thank you!

I imagine you'd have to have a NTSC TV, yes? Too bad it was not released in Europe, it was (and still is) a great system. People always bark about it's size, but I think it's a sexy looking system.
