  1. One question about the 2800:

Are the yellow-marked things in the attached pic switches? and for what?

    Mike

Yes, one is for channel A or B and other is for BW or COLOR.

The power switch is on the front next to the ports and is much better then the 7800 power switch or 2600 Jr.

  2. If you take the metal label plate off the 7800 you could probably replace it with something that looks similar to that. Not sure exactly why you would want to though.

    Mitch

He wants to make a 7800 system with the 2800 lights and top switches but with the pause & power like the 7800 has. Take the best of the two systems to make one great system.

Tele-games SYSTEM 2 is just like the 2800 but more easy to find.

  3. why does the 2800 have 4 conrtoller ports?

The 5200 had 4 ports, don't know any games that was 4 player for that system, the 2800 that was a 2600 never had 4 player games that I know of so I guess it's more for looks ? Or MAYBE there was some games that would have 4 player mode but the system failed before a 4 player game was made ? Atari seemed to think ahead but never stayed the path, they just made new system. This Is just my guess !

  4. Seems the Atari 7800 and 2800 have the same body style, almost same plastic mold. I just got these two systems this month and side by side they look almost the same. The 7800 has a EXPANSION PORT and the 2800 has more LIGHTS.

  5. Someone in a ebay chat said sniping is wrong and will be a violation in ebay rules someday. This was a few years ago and I guess the person that made that post was mad but everyone agreed with him or her. To think about it now he or she was full of it...

Vernoman, It seems to me the correct way to spell sniping is "snipping", then again I suck at spelling. But now I know now its spelled sniping. Or maybe it should be snipe as Rick Weis said...

  6. Some say its ok, is it ?

I snip when there are bidding wars, I look at my competition and when they won items in the past, some of them snip so I wait until they bid it up with others and place a "quick bid" Some try to snip me but my secret is snip with a high bid so if they try with a $1.00 snip im still the winner. At times I wait to long and it ends but with my cable modem its kinda easy, I placed one bid with 2 seconds, the last one I did was with 3 seconds left. (All items I won were what they go for on ebay or more since I always pay more fore items so the seller never got ripped off and when I want a item I pay what ever for it and its always more But im always happy). Is Snipping ok ? Some one on ebay years ago said it was wrong ?

  7. I am very interested in the 32X Spider man ; I have no idea how much it will go for - it is the rarest game on the 32x :ponder:

sounds like i may get some side offers then. :ponder:

they can try but they won't get anywhere. :P

Damn you, Damn you all to hell I say. I tell you what. I always offer half of what a game is worth in side offers , but my money is good, because it smells good YOU SEE !

LoL :) (I hate side offers as well).

  8. You can still buy Atari 2600 stuff at malls ?!!?

My mall's two game stores stopped selling 8-bit NES and Sega Genesis games... They also seem to be dumping there SNES and DreamCast lot quick like they are a hot steaming dog pile log that smells like you dropped it after a few beers ! :o

  9. Ok, so the begging question here is obviously, "Has anyone ever discovered a PAL River Patrol with a label?  I know it's a damn hard title to find over here in the states.

Just stay safe, don't buy PAL..... "Knowing Is Half the Battle, Yo Joe" and don't but PAL ;)

  10. I seen people say the black Atari 2600 "Darth Vader Model" with the gold words "video computer systerm" above the Cartridge Slot is harder to find then in silver "video computer systerm" above the Cartridge Slot ?

Are the ones in gold print early ones ? Why are there ones with video computer system in gold and others in silver print ?

I know this is a stupid thing to ask like why Nintendo made systems without the TM after "entertainment system" words but found out that was done in trial / first year runs... Anyway back to the "video computer systerm" in gold / silver print.... WHY ?  :?

You all must know, so tell me.... TELL ME NOW !!!!

  11. Any way you slice it it's still a bloody info scam.  eBay ought to ban those sort of things.

Why if they make money off this !

"ebay is a big player and has made money and alot, the more you have the more you NEED" from a article about greed

I hate ebay for some of what they do but love the things sold on them and they are the only place for old computer stuff like Atari so Im a slave too them and yet I hate them... :| :( :| :|

Yahoo had some good stuff at good deals but in the last year it seems no one sells on them like Old game systems or kodak folding cameras.....
