all I can say is.. GRRRRRRRRR.. it has been 5 hours since I last found/understood anything ..... My hat's off to pitfall harry for this one.. it is briliant!! but it looks as if my celebration of the 20th will be playing the classic.

Oh happy day.. thanks to that evil ebay, I have just completed my collection goal (I will never stop.. but my psychotic obsession phase is over). I now have ever title (with instruct) from the Atari cat(CO16725-Rev. E)

I will have to go with Kung Fu... that was one of the best looking to an arcade.. (i think the gameplay kinda sucks).. but it looks good...and for the limitations of the VCS.. Gorf is not horrible.

I am not far enough along to quote codes.. but on the other Q.. Stella @ 20 is a pretty cool documentary of the original atari gang from 1997. If you want. I can swing over one evening or weekend and let you take a look..

I can look.. I have a small collection of the indiana jones comics.. it is a full set so it should have all the ads that were contracted to Marvel from like.. 82 (or 83) to 85.. ( i do remember the back cover of one is super cobra.)

 

Once I get moved and my puter back set up I will start to work on that as well.. if a bunch are up at that point.. I can see if there is anything I can add

I have been doing some research on the programming of the VCS to write games. I must say.. there isnt alot of information out there (but what is out there is GREAT!).. I figure I have about two more years of disecting all this information on coding until I have a usable demo (I am a bright guy.. but I am realistic).. To take a break from my disecting of the code on Bezerk.. I sat and watched the Stella @ 20 vids again.. and now I am re-thinking this whole thing again! lol..

 

For the newer programmers (not of the late 70's early 80's computer work generation) are you as frustrated?? but still as silly as wanting to pursue it??

I hated the disc... it may look the same.. but not the same feel, effects, and dod famnit.. it feels dirty to play activision classics with a PS controller..

Have you looked at the stella programming manual?? I have tried to understand it for about a month now.. and I am nowhere...My pattern is.. Disassemble.. changes code... re-assemble.. than test to try and get a hold on what is where.. so far.... no success.. grrrrrrr..after all the "success" I have had so far.. I bow to those that came before me.. yet again...

 

Oh.. if you get a hold of this nightmare of programming on this.... i can help with anything that I can.. (which right now is jack and s%*t..) but I am just down the road..

[APE vs SIO2PC?]

I am currently running WinME.. so xp is an improvement...... I may see (now that I am moving) if I have room to pull out my old P75 and dedicate that to the atari (if I have the desk room.. and if my wife doesnt kill me for it..)

Just hold the joystick at an angle with the fire button at 12-o'clock.... Graphically is it horrible.. but I like pac-man

Here is a question..What is the worst (playabllity wise) VCS arcage port? (not do to graphics and the VCS limitations.. just the playing of the acual cart)

 

After messing around with some last night.. I have to vote on Crystal Castles.. I HATE the gameplay!! makes me appreciate Donkey Kong Jr a bit more (not that much more.. come on..)
