  1. No dial up access right now. I am thinking of hooking up to a phone line in the future.. but not sure how far off that project is at the moment.
  2. At the moment I only have Telnet nodes available. Though I've been thinking of adding a dial up node in the future. Though I may run a dial up node on an older computer as another project. blacksunbbs.ddns.net:23
  3. I currently play on a server called "BBSLink" that has quite a few players (relatively, around 10+) I use that rather than running LORD and Trade Wars on my board to give my users more players to interact with. But if enough AA members want a special section on the Black Sun BBS, I'll be happy to oblige. Just need to make sure that the AA forums are mentioned in the feedback so I can give the proper access.
  4. I could set up a section on my board for AA only access
  5. I remember playing GoldenEye on the N64 with a bunch of friends one night. When I left for the bathroom they lowered my health to 25%, Took me a while to figure out why I kept dying so quickly. Those jerks! Great memories!
  6. It really depends on what I'm playing. But I love the sound of both.
  7. A little late to respond.. but "Good" Friday is my favorite! I don't follow any religious stuff.. but my work is closed... so I get a three day weekend and if alcohol is involved, it's even better!! :-D :-D
  8. ET ☺ Honestly, the Pitfall games might be fun in VR
  9. It might be a fun system to play with.. if it actually comes out
  10. To all the 2600 programmers out there. What is your process when you begin working on a project? Do you have a detailed plan? a general outline? I recently started playing with batari and am wanting to put a small game together for my family to enjoy at home... and am looking for ideas on how other people get their ideas and how they structure the initial stages of their projects. Thanks!
  11. I remember my grandmother telling me about "Q-Link" for the Commodore 64. She described it as "America Online" (vomit) for the Commodore 64. As I did more research on it, it seemed more like a BBS, though it was described as an "Online Service." But I'm not familiar with the book,
  12. I was wondering the same thing. I am interested in the project though.
  13. I currently run Synchronet, but I have experimented with Mystic and WWIV. I'll check out your board when I get home from work, and if you don't mind I'll set up a telgate so my users can connect to your board.
  14. I loved Trade Wars 2002! I would dial into the BBS I frequented most and play for almost my total time allotted on that board. I switched to LORD after a teacher I had a huge crush on convinced me to give it a shot. She and I played together for quite a while until that particular board closed down. *sigh* Those were fun times. I often miss those days.... Currently, I play LORD through BBSLink and have introduced some people to the wonderful world of BBSing and LORD though my BBS (The Black Sun BBS - telnet to blacksunbbs.ddns.net:23) Shameless plug - Feel free to "call" in Captain Kiwi, Black Sun BBS SysOp
  15. My experience with the Atari is a little different as well. I started my gaming on an old Commodore 64. I remember typing commands to load the games, waiting for what seemed like an eternity for the games to load, using a control much like the Atari 2600... and the game Alien scaring the living shit out of me (hey... I was only 5!) I moved on to NES and wasted many hours. .. then moved on to SNES. By the time N64 came out, I was pretty much into PC gaming and BBSes (I now run my own BBS... let the nostalgia fly!) But I remember an old Arcade game hidden in the back or a laundromat... or a bus station... many that were ported to Atari (or maybe the other way around) but they always had a special feel to them. I've been thinking about getting a new console for a while and settled on an Atari 2600. Since I'm now grown with young kids to look after, I think introducing them to the Atari 2600 would help them appreciate the advancements of the video game industry as well as the pioneering spirit of Atari. In fact I found a tutorial for VBB and Stella and played with the code a bit. My 7 year old played with the end result and absolutely loved it. Now. It looks like Atari might be a new family fun activity. ☺
