  1. Congrats! I'm so glad to see that people are still going for the patch. Welcome to the 'Astronomer hall of fame!' http://pietrow.net/atari/astronomer/
  2. All games work cross platform but the colors get messed up and I think the speed changes? They didn't have any kind of region locks or whatever back then, the cart just sends an incompatible signal and the TV interprets it as it wants. I think that if you send it through HDMI it always works, but not sure.
  3. I'm glad that you like it! You are on the list, I think taht everyone else is also. Tell me if I missed any of you! https://pietrow.net/atari/astronomer/
  4. I totally missed this! (Conference/vacation in Chile) Awesome to see how much was gathered though!
  5. Hey guys, congrats! I have updated the astronomer webpage to include all the records posted here: http://pietrow.net/atari/astronomer/ Eventually they should also show up on the packrat page.
  6. So a guy just submitted this insane score to Packrat. I don't have his name (yet) but wow.
  7. Amazing! Does that include the cart dumping routines? It would be awesome if it could read all the carts also that would be a dream

This weekend they also went to a retro game expo and did not even show the R77 on their banner as far as I can see, so I think that they dropped the console like the retron 5. I've asked Hyperkin multiple times about them updating their software, they usually ignore the question but answered once asking what games don't work exactly. I gave them a list of 50+ and again no reply. I personally lost hope in them fixing anything, so I really hope that the community can update it to a better stella. Ofc the down side is that many carts will never be readable. I really hate the shoddy work that they do and the lack of support. -.-
  9. Congrats! You are the new world champion in Astronomer! http://pietrow.net/atari/astronomer/ You must have been very lucky to not get any wasteful stars / clouds. Technically there is no limit to the score, but the more of the 'unobservable' stars you get the closer to death you are. I'm happy that I randomized this to be fair, as it really allows for ridiculous high scores.
  10. Congrats on the patch! I can't edit the main thread, but I have added it to the website! http://pietrow.net/atari/astronomer/
  11. Amazing! can you switch the text around and does that take more variables?
  12. I think its just you and me who have the patch ATM. I might add a list of people who got it to the thread once a 3rd shows up.
  13. New record posted! http://pietrow.net/atari/astronomer/ Thanks! I'm glad that you like it. I'm still working on my second game that should get an AA release. You could give that a go too if you want. (see my signature) Hope you get it soon! 10,000 is a bit optimistic I think. 30 would already be very impressive!
  14. Holy shit! Well that's going on the site! (It's late here though so tomorrow.) Congrats!
  15. Awesome! I added you to the high score list of the main page! http://pietrow.net/atari/astronomer/ Packrat should send you a patch soon.
  16. This is amazing. Will it be on cart?
  17. Yea it wasn't meant to go so low. (As telescopes usually don't either. It might have been good to allow in hindsight, but it's too late now )
  18. You should point the beam at it and press fire until the little health bar is full. Then you get a new star and a point.
  19. So the game randomizes the star positions, it took me about 2 full evenings of grinding to get past 20. My strategy was starting with a star thats well observable and really stocking up on time. When you lose one due to it spawning low you reset. The 2nd game mode could help because the clouds are random, but I did it in game mode 1 as I could predict the clouds.
  20. I got 22 on the atari portable, same rom though! Just gor the cart last week so did nit try that yet. How high are you getting? Did you get the boxed or lose cart version?
  21. I got the letter + patch. (Mostly to prove that it's possible) Did anyone else manage to get one yet? You don't need to own the game to earn it, if you make on an emulator that also counts!
  22. I didn't even realize I was on this one! I'm glad that people like the packaging so much. The design was by me, based on traditional Atari game boxes but the insert and goodies (magnet/flyer) were David's idea. I got the box in this week and I very happy with it! Anyway, tough competition. Good luck all!

If you have a NTSC 60 version of a game, is there a way to run it with pal colors.
  24. EU TV's tune to channels so channel 3 won't be correct. Turn it on, plug it in and run the autoscan function and it should show up.
