  1. Defender II, receiving an open box that you purchased because it was sealed really sucks. Coleconut, what happened to the condition of your purchase 7 years ago?
  2. I was also wondering if customs would open the shipping box and damage the contents inside. Thanks for the reply.
  3. ebay says ... International Shipping - items may be subject to customs processing depending on the item's declared value. Sellers set the item's declared value and must comply with customs declaration laws. As the buyer, you should be aware of possible: - delays from customs inspection. - import duties and taxes which buyers must pay. - brokerage fees payable at the point of delivery. Anyone have any experience and know what to expect when buying from Venezuela?
  4. I'm getting these vertical lines with an S-Video cable. I'm not getting any banding. Can someone clarify if I would still get these vertical lines if I switched to a composite video cable?
  5. Too bad these vertical lines wern't horizontal. Then I would welcome then as emulated scanlines.
  6. This looks cool. I'll probably get one when (if) the 2nd run goes through.
  7. Put me down for 1 assembled device.
  8. Looks good. Will this device allow you to run games with more than one .atr file?
  9. Interesting. You mention "Some of them are released on multiple ATR images; you need a device that allows ATR images swap." Which ones are capable of doing that? I would like to run "The Dark Crystal".
  10. This one... http://www.ebay.com/itm/XL-XE-Power-Adapter-1-5A-Orig-New-Atari-Ver-4-The-Box-/140957761006?
  11. I would like to be added to the list for one of these. Thanks.
  12. MAME and MESS became one awhile ago. MAME now runs all the consoles and other machines that were in MESS.
  13. So the Ultimate Cart will run .ROM and .XEX. The MyIDE-II will run .XEX and it looks like it may also run .ATR files. I guess you need both to run .ROM and .ATR.
  14. I'm a bit confused on the capibilities of these two solutions. Can anyone explain the pros and cons aside from the different type flash card each one uses? The Ultimate SD cart apparently is no longer available so I'm hoping the MyIDE-II will satisfy my needs.
  15. I'm not to crazy about the rear loading cartridge slot either. I'm hoping I can find some kind of mult cart so I won't have to change carts much.
  16. Thanks for the advice. I think I will do a compromise and go with a 65XE. It's a bit more affordable than the 130XE and I like the design better than the XEGS.
  17. The composite is good to have. It also carries the audio?
  18. I'm looking to pick up a 130XE or XEGS to get back to the basics with the old classic 8-bit games like Quasimodo, Zorro, Castle Wolfenstein, etc. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of each system to help me decide?
  19. The old Atari computers and drives are long gone. I recently purchased a 5200 and was hoping it would work with it. Thanks.
  20. Anyway to get this ported to the 5200 so I can throw it on the AtariMax cartridge?
  21. I have another 2-port board that doesn't have those wires so I thought this one may be modded. Thanks.
  22. I picked up a 5200 that doesn't work. I replaced the motherboard and it works now but I am curious if the original motherboard has been modified and if so to do what. On the underside of the board there is a wire soldered on. On the top of the board there are 2 wires soldered on. See pics attached. On the underside of the board you can also see a nut that apparently secures the heat sink.
  23. I picked up a 2-port 5200 that I cannot get to work. The power supply is working and the console LED lights up. I am not getting sound or picture. I tried several cartridges. I auto-tuned the channels. I briefly saw the word PENGO behind a lot of snow while I was on channel 2 and the console was set for 3. Switching the TV to 3 didn't show anything. The console is very clean so I really would like to get it working. Any suggestions?

    No Sound

Well, I don't know what happened but I have sound now. I did an auto tune with my TV and the 7800 plugged in and running. That didn't help so I unplugged everything. I just plugged everything in again and now it is working. I may have seated the RF end into the 7800 a little more secure. It must have been a combination of both.
