  1. I would think twice about swapping the FB9 for the FB8. The FB9 uses Stella for emulation. The FB8 uses AtGames own emulation which is not as good as Stella. The FB9 has SD card support so you can add additional ROMs. The FB8 doesn't. I think you'd be better off just waiting and getting the FB9 paddles.
  2. It's not just this ROM, it's all of them...and they do sound fine on Stella 5. I don't have Stella 3.9.3 but I have benn using Stella for a long time and don't ever recall hearing these issues.
  3. Atari-kev, listen to a sound sample of my 9 Gold from this thread... http://atariage.com/forums/topic/284759-flashback-9-gold-sound-issue/?p=4151901 This was taken from Return To Haunted House but the sound is similar sporadically in all games. Does your 9 Gold have the same issues?
  4. It does happen during the emulation but it doesn't happen when you're on the game selection menu and the background music is playing. Definitely a problem with the emulation...and it's not consistent. I wonder if it's only present on the Gold versions.
  5. I'm attaching a wav file. I loaded Return To Haunted House and reset the game several times to get a sample of the intro theme. I don't know if "dropouts" are a good description but listen for yourselves. I tried another TV and the issue persists. Does anyone have a Flashback 9 that sounds like this? Flashback 9 Gold Audio - RHH.wav
  6. Yea, I hope Bill can chime in. I'm dissappointed in it and thinking about returning it as defective. I'm gonna try a different TV and see if the issues persist. I picked up the 9 Gold at Game Stop.
  7. No sound bar... I just use the TV speakers. I'm not to proficient with video. Perhaps others will hear this issue also as the 9 Gold starts showing up on the shelves.
  8. I ended up picking up a 9 Gold and it has a sound issues... probably similar to the Legends. Sometimes the sound has dropouts or it skips (if that's a way to explain it). It also gets *crackly* sometimes. Is this the issue on the Legends system?
  9. That's odd. The countdown clock works fine on my versions. It has a blue background...not black like your screenshot.
  10. It looks quite similar to Return To Haunted House. Hopefully Anthony Wong will read this thread and clarify.
  11. I haven't noticed but that's good news. I'll give them a try again. Thanks for doing these.
  12. I'm not crazy about the altering of the original graphics with the Homesoft graphic.
  13. Thanks for the info. Have you tried parantheses like Montezuma's_Revenge_(1984)?
  14. I know how to do that but if we can't have spaces then I'm going to want some other naming convention like removing extra detail. Does upper or lower case matter? Does special characters like underscores matter? Can the filenames be longer than 8 characters?
  15. It's very difficult on the Blast! I am much better on a real Atari 2600. The paddles just don't perform properly with that slight lag.
  16. This is too bad. There will be a lot of time involved renaming everything.
