  1. I grew up a grand total of 10 miles from the expo center, and the weather in November isn't bad at all. Not great weather, but not cold or snowy like middle of the winter. Either way I too liked the spring time better also. Ill be in Colorado rooting for Colorado... As I found out I made it into gradschool.
  2. Check for hotels in plymount meeting, whitemarsh and conshohocken pa and obviously Fort Washington. They are farily close. The town is a few exits east of valley forge on the Turnpike. I grew up near by.
  3. I don't like to agree with Nova, but the story was everywhere yesterday.
  4. I grew up in Plymouth Whitemarsh which is right there. Shame I no longer life there, and in November Ill be an extra 20 hours drive on top of the 8 now. Very nice area though with plenty of things to do and a mall and such. Suburbia and not quite the King of Prussia mall like the Valley forge Convention center has though.
  5. Shame its in the fall. I won't be able to make it then. I was hoping for the spring date, but we will be in another part of the country then, and gradschool will have started too. Shame really, as I grew up less than 10 miles from the site... Oh well, maybe next year Ill make it to the Oklahoma show or CGE instead. We will be out int CO or Cali by fall.
  6. That is how I approach collecting myself. Pick a company and go for it. Just finished Data Age as a matter of fact. I pick up the odd Atari brand cart that I need too. NES collecting is also the same for me. We got a PC instead of a NES or Atari so Im just trying to figure out what I missed out on. Well what I missed owning at least. Though with a collection of XBOX games fastly approaching 100 I guess I still like a variety of titles to play. Not to mention its fun to see the number of carts grow. 4 more till I hit 200 unique US released titles.
  7. 2600 all the way baby.... Though the NES is gainning some speed. Its fun to actually be able to find games I don't have outside of EBAY!!!!! Love the feeling of find a game that Im actually looking for too. Those are the only two systems I collect for unless you consider 60+ XBOX games a collection....
  8. Chalk me up to number 3 and add number 4 4) I didn't get a 2600 as a kid so Im making up for it as an adult.
  9. It most likely wouldn't hold up very long. Take a look at some of the DS units on display for comparison. Most are scratched up fairly bad. Its a shame really, I want to give it a spin or two before I buy one.
  10. Here is a link to the instructions... http://homepage.mac.com/ablack6596/PSP/index.html
  11. Exploits then, but still more or less hacks considering neither were intended. Technicalities...
  12. I could glue tetris into my og gameboy and never miss a beat. Still gets the most play time in my portable. I liked Super Bubble Pop for XBox. Dirt cheap and fun for a few hours at least. 3D too which is kinda neat.
  13. Here are some links Full access webbrowser http://www.portagame.com/sony_psp.php/2005/03/26/psp_hacked http://www.ehomeupgrade.com/entry/783/sony_psp_browser Itunes on PSP http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558...,1780605,00.asp
  14. Not to mention the thing should be fully hacked by then. Been there done that.... 15. I forgot that maybe they stay at home to play online? Doesn't make sense to me, but I didn't buy one so maybe I just don't understand. A lot of activity on other game forums I participate in though. I still laugh when people call it a media machine... How many that own it are really going to buy movies in UMD for it? We just switched to DVDs for the most part. Is blockbuster going to stock UMDs for rental? That might make some sense. What about gamefly? Ive already stated my point on the music side.
  16. I work with a few that fit the demographic and none have it yet. Too much is the big complaint I hear. I saw one being played in EB, but it was one of the EB employee's. My "cousin in-law" bought one though. Other than that I haven't seen many in action. Though there are plenty at wally world. Maybe I should buy a few and resell for profit on ebay???
  17. I would agree with this. I would imagine wal-mart/target are huge markets for current hand held systems. GBA/DS/Gameboy. "Pick up groceries, makeup, and a GB game for little jonny" PSP is an entirely different group. Well at least currently.
  18. I doubt that many more would sell at christmas with the current price tag. People are used to buying handheld systems in the $100 price range, not the console price range. I too am waiting until next XMAS to get one simply for the price and the bugs to be worked out along with a serious collection of GAMES. Ive seen some with movies, but mostly novel stuff to show off the capabilities and "neat" things. Not to mention that the PSP is going up against a whole new generation of console next christmas. I think it will be a HUGE success as a gaming machine and nothing more. And I think we will see it really take off around next christmas as the price hits the normal level for a handheld. The average gamer LOVES most PS2 shovelware and this is the portable system for those titles. I think GTA will cause a surge in sales too.
  19. but you realize that nearly half the cost of the PSP has gone into the multimedia features. if it were a dedicated gaming machine, then it couldve used solid state media (memory sticks) for games, the battery life wouldve improved, and the cost wouldve gone down, and more units would have been sold. And that is their biggest mistake right there. A half way attempt at supporting media. No serious storage for music, and proprietary media for movies. Neither of which is going to sell millions of PSPs alone like an Ipod at $250.
  20. Normally I wouldn't flame away, but I have to on this point. Currently at the $250 price point, the PSP is marketed to only the truly hardcore game that must have the newest machine on the block. It is also hardly a "swiss army knife" for multimedia. Most who will buy the PSP at this price already have an ipod that holds 100x the music the PSP will hold with a second investment of $100 plus on a 1+Gb card. Not to mention the extra $$$ for UMD movies. The PSP is curently the piece of hardware directed at the most hardcore of hardcore. I know very few willing to spend $250 and I constantly hear from coworkers about the excesive price. We are talking about $100 more then the next portable and $175 more than the current top of portable gaming. Hardly something the casual gamer is going to go out and buy at launch. At this price I would not be suprised at all to see sales tank within the next two months. Its in console price teritory after all.
  21. Both of our wal-marts have 20+ bundles sitting on the shelf and the EBs are sold out. Id say it was successful, but not sell out successful like the PS2/XBOX were.
  22. Ok, Ive had a GBA for over a year now and it doesn't get the use I would like it to. Im looking for suggestions on some great games. Not looking at NES re-issues either I have the ones that I already want. Zelda and SMB3. My favorite portable genre is puzzle games so that might help with suggestions. Not really interested in pokemon and the like either. What about the castlevania titles? Any kirby titles for the GBA?
