Been going on for a long time now. MC had less polygons in Halo 2 than 1. Bump mapping made all the difference in his case.

And you base this off of what? The first x box is STILL 180, microsoft doesn't seem to like dropping the price of their systems. And the ps3 rumored to be 500$ there is no way it could be cheap enough to even come close to matching the revolutions price. Can some one answer this for me, could nintendo add hd on the revolution after it becomes cheaper and more people have it? Just wondering. 982802[/snapback] The first xbox is $150 and has been for more than half of a year. The forza bundle is $180, but you get a game with the system. That being said, the rev has plenty of technology in it, and probably won't be as cheap as many will think. Not to mention MS is smart enough to drop the price when the PS3 ships. Unless the PS3 ships at $600 like some are suggesting. W/HDrive If the Rev ships for less than $250 Id be very supprised, and be willing to bet Nintendo would loose money on each console at that price. They are still using plenty of new technology without the HD support. Its still not going to be a cheap console.

If there could be only one review show and I had a vote, I'd keep Judgement Day and get rid of X-play. I cannot stand Sessler & Webb and their insipid, anal routines. The hosts of X-play make me understand why some species eat their young. On top of that they are WAY biased to specific generes and titles. Tommy needs to stick to making game music and leave the reviewing to others.

See thats the thing, HDTV is the big shiny toy this generation and many are looking for more reasons to buy a new HDTV. The other two consoles look superior simply because of HD support. Not going to mean much to most, but by the end of the next generation it will be a bigger deal. Much like online gaming has been this generation. Not for everyone, but clearly very important. I do agree that people want something different. However, the price point isn't going to do much. It didn't increase their market share this generation and they were always at least $50 less than the competition. Shoot they lost market share. By the time the Rev ships the prices of the 360 and the PS3 will be much less. Well at least the 360. IMHO the Rev will survive because of its lower price. That one of the reasons the cube survived this gen. Its cheap enough to survive in its niche market. Also, the 360 premium bundle at $400 has now clearly shown that people will willing pay more than the magic $300 for a home console.

Now if only Judgement day was leave. Wow I hate that show.

Oh forgot one series. If you like the "acradey" aspects of racing. check out the burnout series 2 and after on the XBOX. They are some of the better arcade racers out there and the sense of speed is quite good. Shame EA took over and now releases a version each year...

As I mentioned twice, Im talking about BROADCAST TV. Not just cable or sat. Much of the broadcast world has and is switching over. Before the end of the next console generation the vast majority will have switched and there will be very little to no SDTV on the airwaves. It should change a lot for all of those ugly tv hosts and anchors.

As I mentioned in my post before, all broadcast TV is switching to HD here in the near future. Not an MS/Sony thing, but an FCC thing. Therefore the need is being driven partially by broadcast TV...

I hated the kudos system... As for another racer to look for, Forza. One of if not the best from this generation and its on the xbox so you get LIVE racing also. Customization too which I really like.

As for the Bond titles from EA, well compare them to some similar titles from other devs and you can clearly see that they just don't stack up quality wise. Sure they have some moments, but overall they just can't hold weight. Jump online for instance. Shoot the Golden Eye sequel is one of the worst FPS available, and it shipped around the same time as Halo 2. For a company with the pockets and resources of EA you should expect more from them. And not simply big name voice overs and high quality cut scenes either.

If you are online console gaming LIVE is clearly the way to go. Give it a few weeks if you don't believe me. It really changes how online gaming works. As for connections, well Ive heard good and bad about both DSL and Cable so it really seems to depend on the provider and the area. And with Cable how saturated the network is at any given time. Personally Im a fan of DSL and will continue to use it. Dedicated line and plenty of speed in most areas.

Nintendo isn't going to die. They still have a solid grasp on what it takes to make and support a killer handheld. However in the conosole market they have done a very good job of backing themselves into a corner/niche market. Only time will tell if there will be enough consumer support for that market. So far it looks like they will be just fine, but in a clear 3rd "place". It will be interesting to see if they try and attract the "mature" gamer at all next generation, and the same with 3rd party support. However, they aren't going to die anytime soon. Actually I could see sony dieing before Nintendo. The Sony corp as a whole isn't doing well, and with all of the new hardware they want to ship, they stand to loose a TON per console. Even a year from now, much of the hardware (Blu Ray) will still be new and at a killer price. Not to mention the serious potential for a good number of consoles DOA...

The problem with all of that is that EA has already started this next generation off with shiping sequels and ports... I don't see them jumping on the new IP bandwagon anytime soon either. Thats one thing I will give Nintendo, they stick to their guns and try and create new franchises while EA simply tries to buy those that succeed and ride the coat tails of those who created them. Well a few of the XBOX titles I missed as they are getting cheap Love to have a 360, but Im waiting for the second generation of the console and more titles to choose from. But ultimately I have a HUGE jeep project Im half way through so that is my priority. New axles, lockers, SOA and tires...

Can you imagine if one of the hand held systems had a LIVE type system... Id easily be in line for that. Especially with DL conent on the PSP... Both Sony and Nintendo have plenty to learn though. MS has been doing the whole network thing for quite a while and can easily put the backbone together for a killer network system. I keep hearing about how great Mario Kart DS is online. Shame there is no gamertag though.

Well first off, the 2D game is great fun. I just finished it. Id love to try the multiplayer though. As for Halo outside of PC and XBOX. Well MS does in fact make games for the GBA though Rare so who knows. That would be crazy if MS supported the next Gameboy replacement... That would put a hurtin on Sony for certain. Regardless, 2D halo is well done other than the english. Give it a go.

As I mentioned earilier, in the case of HDTV, soon we will see SDTV being phased out. More and More local stations are already broadcasting in HD, and its just a matter of time before all broadcast that way. The shift to HD by the consumer has almost been as quick as the shift to DVD was. Its not just some marketing ploy either and its not just MS and Sony trying to push it. It is the entire industry that is going that direction including broadcast television. Nintendo doesn't seem to grasp that... Then again, does Mario really need realistic looking skin? Now Zelda would look sweet in a realistic game...

Wow, sounds like it kept the game in RAM???? Anyways, did you let it completely dry out? I once had a digital camera take a dip in a river, and once it was completely dried out, it worked just fine. Didn't turn it on until it dried out though. Goo luck with it, and don't keep it in your pocket next time

You can lock and unlock the drives farily easily these days.

I'm surprised EA hasn't publishes massive losses yet, since most of their non sports games bombing like battlefield earth. It took what a whopping month for the third age to hit 20$? Anyways, how is it the gamers fault for not buying original games that simply aren't good? Good/Fun games will sell for the most part. As for the Nintendo being a kiddies system, well I never really said that. I just stated that they have done a very good job of backing themselves into a corner/niche market. Only time will tell if that market is enough to keep them viable in the console industry. As for hardware, well who wouldn't want the best and brightest hardware??? I mean shoot I have all of my old hardware to play the old games with. Nintendo is simply lucky that most of their first party titles have not grown stale with age. As for Sony and MS, well considering both have been in the industry much longer how are they going to have established characters??? After all MC is getting a movie, and there would be riots if MC wasn't in Halo 3. Don't believe me, spend some time on the bunige site or other xbox sites. People love the character. MC's movie is being made less than 4 years after the original title shipped after all. BTW, what genre did Mario create??? Maybe cart racing, but other than that he isn't the original. Platformers or even the OG Mario. For the record, I never stated in this thread that N would go third party. They have way too much pride, and would mostly likely drop the console and stick solely with the hand held market.
