1. Old enough to remember the 2600 and a lot of the NES generation, but my Parents bought a PC instead of a console. So I ended up learning to program instead. Too cheap to buy games for the PC so I wrote my own.

So classic gaming is a chance to play the titles I heard about but missed out on owning. Well thats how it started at least, now I just collect because I like to collect and it always fun to find something you don't have.

  2. I understand that.

I was an SNES house. The glory of the Genesis was never experienced here.

Since getting one, I've found that they're damn fun machines.

From the sounds of things and through a little searching, it looks like the SNES was one of the most liked consoles of all time game wise.

  3. Im new to the SNES, and I searched for a list here and didn't find one. So what are some of the top SNES games. I need to track a few down for a friend. Thanks again.

lol wtf, man? you disappear for a few months and then you come back with some generic post? How did the move go?! :)

    :ponder:

Very good actually. We are settled in and Graduate school is going well. Taking a graphics class next semester and then the advanced class next year. Maybe Ill get into game programming... :lust:

A WHOLE LOT of new game hunting locations here in Denver.

  4. Buronout 3 just doesn't have the flavor of Burnout 2...

Im gonna miss the 2K series... Where is EA going to get their "new" features now? Not to mention Sega was finally smart enough to realize that sports titles shouldn't be $50 each year!!!!

Anyways, EA "All your IPs are belong to us!!!".... :skull:

BTW, now that EA has %20 of UBI Soft, are they next???? Lets hope not...

  5. Well considering that I have an LE console, and I can now sell it used for more than I paid, Id say its collectable. Same with the other LE consoles. The Kasumi console from Japan being one of the bigger sellers. Ive seen them for up to $600 for the console. However, there are numerous titles that have sold very very few titles. I doubt they will ever be huge, but in 20 years who knows?

  6. Nothing Revolutionairy thus far about the Rev. I already own all of the old titles I have any interest in playing, and the correct hardware to play them on, so I have zero desire to buy them again. Remember, Nintendo just recently sold the old NES titles for $20 on the GBA. ;) Hardly a bargin when I can still find the originals for 50 cents. If they show something revolutionairy, Ill pick it up. Otherwise, Ill stick to the consoles gearing up for the future rather than relying on Mario to sell games. Anyone notice the number of Mario titles shiping!!!! :-o

  7. I have little interest in Xbox 360 over some comments Bill made and looking at those specs (as well as the lack of Xbox 1 support)

BUT.....I do like Xbox live as well as some games like KOTOR so I'm a bit torn on it. I still will probably own one eventually.

I am really interested in the fire breathing dragon that is PS3 (I love RPG's)  and of course the Revolution (I have a soft spot for Nintendo) not to mention backwards compatability on both systems!  :)

    857666

360 is backward compatible.... ;) Pretty common knowledge now at least.

  8. I said it before, I'll say it again, the cell processor is really 9 independent processing units, the main core and eight synergistic processing units. It doesn't look weak at all.  :ponder:

Then again, half the programmers in the industry can't even grasp the power of parallel processing like this, why would any of you gamers? :P

    856472

Some of us programmers do... ;)

BTW, did anyone see the new boomerang controllers for the PS3???? :lolblue:

Look here if you don't believe me...

  9. *sighs*

And one final thing. ONLY WIRELESS CONTROLLERS!

    That's my opinion though.

    854180

BTW, its has now been confirmed that there will be wired controllers. As I said earlier on. So SHUT UP about there only being wireless controllers.

BTW, Im glad your multi thousand dollar PC is better, the 360 will only be $300-$400. About the price of one of your graphics cards... ;)

  10. Ah, what would an article be without blatant BS?

    "ALL, read ALL games support:

    16:9, 720p, 1080i, 5.1 Dolby Digital, custom soundtracks."

I'd believe the first 2, what with DTV replacing NTSC in a year.

    3 and 4, maybe.

But there's no way in hell that everyone's gonna support the fifth.

    854223

That would be MS enforcing it. ;) That is the easiest of the 5 to acomplish BTW. ;)

  11. Well here it is, early even. A Danish magazine leaked the info earlier today. Got to the news. Its over at XBOX Scene if you want the details and the magazine scans. Be sure to check out the Ghost Recon 3 screen shots... :D

    First info for you guys:

*It will be released in europe 7-10 days after USA-release

    *December release in Japan

*Its released in less than six months

*Release games: Perfect Dark Zero, PGR3 and Kameo. Check at the end of this post.

Oh you guys... the controllers look PERFECT! And so does the console!

    More info:

*10-16 game titles at the release. 40 games after half a year.

*The Xbox Live Silver thingy is correct, it will be there, and those features will be free. "Free weekends" and such.

*You will be able to transfer stuff from an ipod. Mentioned more later.

*You will see TV thru your Xbox. Mentioned more later, check under.

*You can have it placed on "standing position" and just have it straight down.

*When you watch DVD, some stuff in the console will automaticly shut down - so its more quiet. Like one of the fans.

*You load the batteries on the controllers up via USB-cable on Xbox.

*The round thingy on the controller = "The ring of light". Its actually a screen, which says if there are any updates on Xbox Live. Downl. content and such. It also says which controller there is in your hands, the number.

*Rallisport Challenge 3 is rumoured to be on Xbox 360. See under.

*Peter Moore confirms Halo 3. Release earliest next year, according to Nexus.

    Allard says:

*There will be face plates, changeable. There will be one in colfiber (+spelling).

*By preventing piracy they will put more money and XBL, making it bigger and better.

    Peter Moore says:

(strange) *THIS time we will have more than 1 million users. (Does that mean that there wont be any transfer of the Xbox 1 users? Or that there werent over 1 million on Xbox 1?)

*Nothing new about Square, nothing to be announced @ E3. But he will be surprised if there are NO Square-game on Xbox 360.

    Ghost Recon 3:

Okey, first of all. THIS ONE LOOKS HOT. Hot. HOT. HOT. GR 360 oh man you guys.

    Oh man.

*Just some info about the story, bla bla. The PC-version is developed by the Deathrow-developers, so that the Red Storm Ent. cant concentrate on the Xb 360 and Xbox-version.

    ________

    More:

*Xbox 360 looks just like the leaked pictures. Its not grey like on Our Colony, its white. But it can be changed.

*The controller seems to have 2 rear buttons and 2 triggers, not sure.

    *A, B, X, Y, Back, Start.

*There is a picture of THE "Burning Sky". Seems like you can shut down the Xbox via the controller, by pushing "X" in that screen.

*The Xbox itself has wireless network thingy installed. See below.

    *Webcam in 1280-resolution. See below.

*You can put pictures from a digital camera in it. See below.

"Lebron James jumped up, and when he touched the grand all of the body shook. All the muscles moved realistic, EVERYTHING on the body."

*Nothing special about PGR3. See below.

*Dimitri, Peter Molyneux latest game, COULD be released on Xbox 360.

*Call Of Duty 2 on Xbox 360, as we already knew.

*The Ghost Recon 3-article is actually written by this TXB-dude who went to Big Blue Box to play Fable, Nexus1000.

*Something Microsoft Vision will be on Xbox 360. You will see normal TV-channels via your Xbox. AND at the same time Play DVDs AND surf on the internet. At the same time, it seems like.

While all this is on you can get invites to games, friend requests, mail. MS is hoping that 50% of the 360-owners will use Live. Right now, ~8% uses it.

*In the middle of a game, by pushing a button you will get directly to the dashboard.

Oh, and finally and most important: J Allards game of the Xbox 360 is "Fisher Price Nuclear Plant". (edit: which wasnt true, see later in the thread)

Oh, and of course: Thousand thanks to the magnificant (+spelling) danish magazine Gamereactor which I took the info from. They rock, and so does Nexus1000. Mostly because he is pretty. And he has Britney as an avatar. In black hair.

  13. Who can say, xbox viruses?

Sounds like they are going to run a windows based system on it.

YAY, Now it looks MORE like a PC.

Is the xbox 360 backwards compatible?

It would not surprise me if they make it not xbox compatible, so they can sell "xbox 360 comatible" Halo 2's.

    852808

Well the DC had windows CE and no viruses. The xbox is windows based and no viruses. I highly doubt the 360 is going to see viruses. After all, the content on live has to pass an MS review before anything is released to the public. Im sure the policy will stay the same.

Its MS why wouldn't they run and OS on it?

As for backward compatability, no one knows for sure at this point. We will on thursday though. Some say with the extra HD will come extra content and bacwards compatability??? Nothing official yet, but soon enough. Halo 2.5 is also a rumor too.???

Sounds like you have already dismissed the console why continue to trash talk it without any official knowledge???

  14. Well first off, the controller is supposed to be rechargable, and the jack on the bottom is for the new XBOX LIVE headset.

Second, LIVE support is supposed to continue, and there will be multiple levels of LIVE next Gen.

Finally, if you look close, the silver logo appears to be a trackball of sorts. Notice the numbers surounding it. Some type of controller at least. The remote has the same thing.
