  1. Im in the process of trying to desin a single controller that will work with as many 2600 games as possible. My question is, what are the various formats? Here are the few I know of. Thanks for the help. Normal Joystick Paddle Controllers Driving Controllers Omega Race w/Extra fire button Keypad controllers ???
  2. Thanks for the advice on cleaning the console. Ill give that a try too. I found some 91% alcohol.
  3. Question: How many Atari Carts do you have? Answer: Not enough.
  4. I guess I need to look it up then. I saw it for $29.99 last week at EB though? Where was it $19.99?
  5. Ill pass. Rally Sport Challage 2 will own this franchise. Take a look at the screens, and the footage in the new volvo comercial. WOW!!! Looks as nice as if not better than PGR2.
  6. Fun, but more fun in the actual game.
  7. You are in the forum with almost all the answers, just so a search through all the threads. Though lazziness and programmers coinside, it doesn't lend itself to getting a project done. Especially a self motivated project. For the record Im a programmer so I can vouch for the laziness part.
  8. Why all the flack because I don't think a GC is worth $80?? Like I said, Im simply tired of playing games with Mario and Zelda in them. How many games can the put a single character in? Does it really need to be Mario golf? Ill get one when they hit $50 simply because the only game I need on the cube is Mario Kart, and after playing it for a while, it really isn't any better than the N64 version that I already have. Same with Zelda. I don't care for 2D sidescrollers anymore so Viewtiful Joe is out. There is no online functionality. I have a GBA SP so I don't need the GB adapter. All the third party games that I want are on either the PS2 or XBOX. Usually they are better on one of the others due to downloadable content or online modes. Simply put, I can't see how the GC is worth the $$$ to me. Ill just wait till next Dec when it should drop in price again.
  9. Look for one of these. A gold plated version is only $1 more. They are overpriced on ebay though.
  10. Ive never been to a GS or EB that had used GB/GBA games with manuals or boxes. Pretty dumb if ask me.
  11. Looks pretty good. Not exactly a high polygon count though? Im still going to wait and see. I doubt sony has anything to worry about though considering Nintendos onorthodox approach. (DS and multiple screens???)
  12. I only collect NTSC loose and officially released for the 2600. We had a computer during most of the 2600's life so I totally missed out on it. Well owning one at least. My friends had them. So I really don't have a top 100 to try and collect. Right now Im trying to wrap up my Activision collection. I just find it fun to get a new game and spend an hour learning it and enjoying it. If its a blast, then Ill play it again and again. As a matter of fact, I have 4 new games waiting for me at home from UPS!!
  13. I didn't say it was worthless, just not worth $80. Im simply tired of playing games with Mario or Zelda in them.
  14. Ill take Project Gotham 2 over anything on the Cube or PS2 right now. Perhaps the best of the generation??? The online is plain awsome. You will see many of its ideas stolen...
  15. IMHO a new one isn't worth $80!!!! Oh yeah, a month ago you could get the Zelda bundle for that much at Wally World...
  16. Break them up into smaller lots is what I would say. Also you might post what you have in the marketplace forum There are many of us here still looking to fill in the holes in our collection and would be glad to give you the buissness.
  17. Most likely in time for the holiday shopping season. Originally it was this summer. So sometime between now and the end of the year if I had to guess. No real "official" date though. I could wait though if they want to polish it more. Id rather see another AAA title than anything rushed to make the holiday season.
  18. Dont forget he played for Philly too... Is the game any good? Who made the NTSC version?
  19. What types of cleaning have you done? Tried an eraser yet? You have my sympothy, I have purchased 3 dead carts in as many weeks now. Who knew they could be so finiky?
  20. Start by looking at the 2600 programming for newbies forum. There is more than enough info to get started.
  21. Im not really a youngin, but I missed out on much of the console games. We had a computer instead and I spent most of my time working on that. Usually playing Zork, Chuck Yeager flight sim etc... I only got to enjoy the 2600 and Intellevision at my friends house. One day I decided I wanted to see what I missed. Eventually Ill get into the NES also for the same reasons. I forgot to put I was born in 78'
  22. So it has a ROM in the acutal supercharger for the load screen? What is the mod that many refer to? I may have to invest in one of these. Im guessing there is a piece of software somewhere that takes a bin/ROM and outputs this into sound files? This would be nice for debugging a game on a TV rather than through an emulator. Hmm....

    Storage??

Thanks for the advice. Office Max is going out of business so they dont have much of anything left. I will look at K-Mart and Office Depot. I forgot to look there. As for the standup arcades, well she already said I could have one of those but not in the living room like my console games. Im thinking about making some wooden drawers with dividers. That way I can make it to the perfect specs.
