Space Invaders...How many different labels exist for this??
BigFairy321 replied to shining slade's topic in Atari 2600
i just checked my duplicate combat PAL text carts and they have next to atari logo in bottom right hand corner a large PAL, but this is part of the label itself. Whereas the Space invaders cart has an actual stamp. The end labels are the same though. -

unfortunately i dont have a scanner or camera at the moment. But like i said , one is the normal CX-2632P cartridge and the other just has CX-2632 and a PAL stamp ( actual stamp because its very slightly rubbed ) in the bottom right hand next to atari logo. Everything else is identical Strange eh? -

l have 2 pal versions which are text only labels and are a little bit different. One has CX-2632P on it and the other has CX-2632 and a PAL stamp at bottom right hand corner next to atari logo At first glance this is not easy to spot. -
double dragon was REALLY big for me and the games between 86 - 90. i really hated street fighter. It speeled the end of arcades for me.......

hey devo..since were both from brissy, we must be in competition for goood finds.....lol anyways, i find it hard to find anything worthwile here, its been cleaned up mostly. Recently i did find some nice sega saturn titles, including Guardian Heroes at a local cashies. Any ideas were i should go and check out for classic/retro gaming stuff here in brisbane/goldcoast ? So far i have: 2xatari vaders, 1xatari Jr, 2 atari 7800, 1 atari Lynx 1xsega master, 3xmegadrive, 2xsaturn, 1xdreamcast, 1x gamegear 1xNES, 2xSNES, 1xN64, gameboy pocket 1x itellivision 1 colecovision...... I must have a look at Bayers Trading in stones corner, the fella lists all the shit on ebay, but i suppose i could save on postal costs. -
I just saw a copy of surfers paradise, completely sealed mint sell for AU$460 on ebay. This cartridge is listed as undertermined rarity on AA, and its only a european release. Any comments?

How did the arcade in North America 'die'?
BigFairy321 replied to titus's topic in Arcade and Pinball
EXACTLY. todays Pc or console games have no hi scores.. most games today arent competitve excpet some online games like Battlefield. Most games are concerned with " lets see what the next graphical sequence is and save it" syndrome which makes them only playable once, if that ( except battlefeild 1942 ) -
there seems to be a final battle for that VB collectio i mentioned befor. Its now at US$663 and 4hours to go. Ill let u know what it goes for
-
yes i think its a combination of a crappy system and emulators. I use project 64 version 1.5 and so far have no trouble running the 70 roms that i have. Conkers is excellent, and its a 64mb rom. ( i have an amd 2600+ ) anyways..... Now to get that SATURN emulator to work argggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh
-
hmmmm my link didnt work................... anyways its currently $643 US dollars with another 2 days to go and so far there a 15 bids on it.
-
its hard to say, currently i saw on ebay ( in australia ) a complete BOXED sealed unopened and never played virtual boy collection. COMPLETE USA VIRTUAL BOY COLLECTION ALL MINT

How did the arcade in North America 'die'?
BigFairy321 replied to titus's topic in Arcade and Pinball
Personally, for me, i think the arcades died out in the 90's when NEO-GEO relesed their crappy fighting games which were nothing but money suckers. Before that i would be able to go to arcades and play for nearly 1/2 day for a measly $10 aussie bucks. in the 90's when games went up to $2 bucks a pop, i thought this was a completely disgusting and never played arcades again. And yes, i loved the early 80's sleazy arcade scene. A few weeks ago i made a trip to the local arcade and it was crap crap crap.. I watched my friend waste $2 on tekken3 and he lasted about 20sec. -
For me the death of arcades was the release of crappy NEO-GEO fighting games which were not only barely playable but were extreme money suckers as well in the 90's. To this day i still hate SF2 and all its clones. MAME is so full of em that its a no wonder that the arcades suffered a major crash in the 90's. Go into tha arcade and all u would see is fighting games...crap

if u using ccs64, just press F10, which will take u to main menu, highlight device drive 1541 device 8, Goto the directory where games are stored using arrow keys. When u highlight a game u will get several options, ie f1 boot fast , f2 boot normal , and f3 view contemts of disk. Note , some games will load if u use f1 or load"*",8,1 ( thius loads the First program on the disk if u have a disk with a few games on it, once again, press f3 to view disk contents, use arrow keys to highlight the program required and press f1 or f2. NOTE : some games will only work if booted normal, not fast, and some games require u to load the specific file which is not fisrt on the disk. I personally find CCS better than Winvice as its much much quiker to change betweeen disks in middle of game. I use winvice for C16/ +4 , PET, C128 and Vic 20 emulation only, but prefer ccs for c64
-
Man, that is an awesome collection. Even though i have aquired a large number of consoles, my cartridge and game collection is only small.
-
i donno what emulator ure using, but i would suggest ising ccs64 as its the most compatible and easy to use.....................

well i still dont have any trouble running my 0.67 roms with mame 0.78. when i triad mame32 but a lot of the games wouldnt work, so back to command mame and emuloader frontend which works fine. I think i will only download the necessary new roms which have been relased since mame 0.67. I will probably wait another year befor i do a complete romset update. I would do it now but im still finishing off my c64 emu and amiga500 emu's
-
does anyone know a site where i can get an update to my ROMS from 0.67 to the current one? It should be a file or files that incrementally update the romsets.
