Looking to play through an Ultima game - other than Akalabeth on iOS and 5-10 minutes each of Ultima III & IV, I've never played them. Reocmmendations? I'm inclined to start with an earlier one because it won't be as big a time commitment.

  I never actually played through Ultima V, but it would make an excellent entry point before hopping into the "Guardian" trilogy (VI, VII, VIII).
  
  Ultima VII was the pinnacle of CRPGs, IMHO.

  But V would only be improved by playing IV first so that you can appreciate how the story is a direct reflection of that one.. So I guess start with IV.

  Ultima IV is easily the best starting point, although Ultima VII is probably the easiest to come to grips with.
