Got my wife set up with a new mac mini over the weekend. As much as I grumble about some things Apple does, it was generally quite painless to get it set up and easy to fix the few things that didn't work right out of the box.

  My main system is a trashcan Mac Pro. When it's time to replace it I'll most likely do so with a maxed out mini.

  The new Mini has no dedicated GPU, so expect anemic graphics performance if that's of any importance to you. I own one, and consider it unusable without an eGPU. I wouldn't recommend a Mini to anyone who needed it for anything other than the most basic tasks. Having to deal with an eGPU has been a complete pain, and I've been regretting purchasing the Mini since the day I got it.
