  1. Proud of myself - I fixed my record player, just a bit of Deoxit in the cartridge restored the right channel.  I took it into the shop the other day, but their repair man was out for a few months. The guy at the counter made an offhand comment as I was leaving that "it could just be the cartridge. " Sure enough!  First up: "Johnny Winter And..." - pretty good find for $3.

      Was going to say... oxidation inside the body of a cartridge? Where'd you find it, the bottom of the ocean? lol

      It was just the L/R leads going from the cartridge to the tone arm. It was fine for years, just out of the blue this week the R channel stopped working.  Such is the way with old hardware, I guess.

      Oh, gotcha... on the cartridge, not in. Can definitely see those leads getting all funked up.  :grin:
