All classic Johnny Carson, all day. This is another goldmine pluto.tv channel. https://pluto.tv/live-tv/johnny-carson-tv
I used to love staying up late to watch his show (whether my parents knew or not). So much great standup. -

"The Mummy" with Tom Cruise was absolutely awful, but "War of the Worlds" with Tom Cruise was excellent. No idea why I randomly picked up two Tom Cruise movies at the library, but that's fate's roll of the dice.

I remember telling my friend right before we saw War of the Worlds in the theater; Remember Close Encounters? And how terrifying the alien encounters were? Now what if the same guy made a movie where the aliens were NOT Friendly?
I'l tell ya, (like most Spielberg films), That movie was quite well done. Back when we were running it at work on Pay Per View; Myself and 2 other coworkers had dreams that it had really happened.
Of course, I was also already a fan of the original book by H G Wells too I used to think how awesome it would be if a movie ever came out based directly on it, including the 1890s England setting.

https://www.dead.net/30daysofdead halfway through, but last year they post links to all the songs at the end of the month, so you can still get them if you missed them.

My two biggest accomplishments at work so far today were 1) not saying out loud what I was thinking and 2) not clicking "send" after I typed something in zoom chat or email. We'll see if I can keep that up the next couple hours.

Over the last 10 years I haven't introduced a single bug into my company's code base. I accomplished this incredible feat solely by moving into management and not submitting any code.

Being a scarecrow isnt for everyone. But hay... it’s in my jeans.

Cruel words are much easier to forget saying than they are to forget hearing. Be mindful what you say.

Yay, I updated my phone os version, now it's no longer recognized as a device in Photos so I can't import anything. I love software in 2021...

Previous generations did plenty of pot and other substances. My sister (~50) sits on her iPad looking at Facebook all day. I don't get it. It's not about the generation, it's about the environment in which we're living and how aware of that we are. There's no difference in the PEOPLE themselves; rather how we're raised, and how the culture around us shape our development. IMHO as always.

100 little bugs in the code, 100 little bugs. Take one down, fix it up quick, 101 little bugs in the code.

40:22 into the movie Elysium, the "reboot sequence" is pretty clean-looking assembly (not sure the machine, I assume x86 but it's been a while). There's even a comment! I'm not sure how many CEOs can actually write assembly, let alone in the future, but it was neat to see.

A friend of mine gave me a huge bag full of Xbox & Xbox 360 games. Now, I just need to get a cheap, used Xbox & Xbox 360 console to play them!

A friend of mine was interviewed about his incredible Pac Man collection on the "Collector's Call" TV show - check it out, it's pretty cool: https://metv.com/collectorscall

I've been enjoying the show quite a lot. They had Sean Kelly on there last season, showing some of his 2600 stuff.

A little late, but finally bought The Bard's Tale remake from GOG - looks awesome so far. And by so far, I had enough time to create my party. Looking forward to *actually* playing the game through. I never finished it back on the c64.

The ps2 one is an action adventure, as far as I remember (I have it, I think I played the first level). This is a full-on remake of the 80s RPG: https://www.gog.com/game/the_bards_tale_trilogy

A500 Mini https://retrogames.biz/thea500-mini
I was excited at first that finally seems to be happening for real, but Amiga Forever is probably still better... IDK, keeping my eye on it. I do like mini consoles.

Actually had a chance to play Atari today. Better yet, got 150k in Yar's Revenge. Not a great score in the grand scheme, but good for me.

After a few years' hiatus, the Sega Master System High Score Club is back on. Come and play!

After at least 15 years I had to retire my old reliable Brother MFC-4800 B&W laser printer. That thing was a tank. Longest-lasting, most reliable printer I've ever had by far.

I have a Brother MFC 7420 that I know I used for the retail store I had that opened in 2004 that is still going. I have had to replace the laser toner cartridges maybe THRICE in its entire life, just absolutely incredible. Brother / Laser all the way. I remember in college having to shell out $35 or more (which is like $65 today) seemingly every 6 weeks for deskjet cartridges just to print off papers. I think one week I nearly had to go without eating for a few days just to afford it (minimum wage was $3.35 / hour, ack!). Screw you, HP.

After taunting me on the shelf for 25+ years I finally got around to reading
"Dune." Very good, but quite a dense read. I suspect I missed a lot the first time around.
