  1. Very nice. A friend of mine loaned me his original PSP since he just got a slim. While i love my DS, the PSP is a great system too - I've really been enjoying the Capcom Arcade compo i picked up. Plus, he's already hacked it, so I'm hoping to get some on-the-go PS1 action.
  2. I used to be able to do that, but not a chance anymore.
  3. Dragon Force is amazing - definitely one of my favorite Saturn games of all time. Darius Gaiden is a blast. I liked the Saturn version of Sega Rally quite a bit. If you like side-scrollng beat-em ups, Guardian Heroes is awesome.
  4. Cool, I love Vanguard. The 5200's isn't my favorite version due to the somewhat sloppy controls, but it's still fun.
  5. Q*Bert, Dig Dug, Pitfall Harry and DK. Tough choosing between Ms Pac Man & DK was tough, but I've been on a DK kick since seeing King of Kong, so he got the nod. [Edit]Q*Bert could lure the Mad Bomber into falling off the edge of the playfield. Home field advantage!!!
  6. Ghost House is another SMS game that sucks really bad, while we're at it A lot of people say that, but I really loved it back in the day. I need to reacquire that one to see if everyone else is crazy, or if I my taste in games was just bizarre.
  7. www.dualscreenradio.com They have a fantastic friend code tracking service (and excellent forums and the radio show).
  8. Sinistar, The Hero, Evil Otto and Mario. I really wanted to vote for Peter Pepper, but having just seen King of Kong I had no choice but to go with Mario in honor of the original DK.
  9. Finished last night. I totally loved Phaaze. Those little surprises along the way were fantastic. I really enjoyed the last boss, too - I beat him with only a sliver of health left. Great game overall, very satisfying. I didn't save anything at the end because I might go back to try to get 100%.
  10. S&P was shown in Nintendo's 2001 E3 brochures for the n64, so they must have at least been thinking about it. I picked it up last night, and it's a lot of fun. The default controller setting cramps my hands a bit w/ the classic controller, but I hear the "Type 3" control option is better. Using a Wavebird might help, too, but I only had 1/2 an hour to play and I didn't get a chance to try it out.
  11. ...and there was much rejoicing! By me! I guess I need to pick up some more Wii points tonight.
  12. I notice them if I really look for them, but it's not all that bad. Then again, I don't really notice them playing ps2/xbox/cube games, either. I'm playing on a 32" HDTV.
  13. Got the last fuel cell, now I'm back to the Valhalla. I only needed to go back and get a few. Norion and Sky Town were easy - got both of those right away. The last fuel cell on Bryyo took me about two hours of wandering around to find. It didn't bother me, though, as I found a couple extra energy tanks and missile upgrades, and when I finally found it it was a pretty rewarding moment. Hopefully I'll be at the end soon. Really loving the game.
  14. I totally agree. SMS Shinobi holds up very well to this day
  15. That's the way I feel about FPS's.
  16. Hm, last issue I got was the Mario Galaxy cover, which was a while ago. Has anyone gotten a new issue yet? Oddly enough, NP is the only gaming magazine I still subscribe to.
  17. Don't have the cart, but I'll try out the emu version when I stop posting!
  18. Pitfall Harry, Wrong Way, Agent 17 and DK. A nice mix of heroes and villains. I hope Agent 17 can *sneak* in an upset win against Ms. Pac Man. Agent 17 is super cool.
  19. Heh, I picked up Golden Axe Warrior a couple years ago, and got 4-5 dungeons into it. I've fought the skull with little fireballs circling it a couple of times but haven't been able to beat it. I came REALLY close, but I haven't picked it up in a long time. I really do need to go back and give it another go.
  20. Congrats to Cafeman, that's a great score. I didn't have time to play any more this week, but I think I could break 100k given a few more tries. This was a fun week, I got a LOT better playing it a lot over the two weeks.
  21. Yep, it was a great system. Home of the best arcade ports: Afterburner, Golden Axe, Shinobi... Home of the best light gun games: Rescue Mission, Rambo III... Home of a boatload of quirky original titles: Penguin Land, Alex Kidd, Zillion... and of course, Home of Phantasy Star. I ended up selling my original SMS many years ago (don't remember, probalby when the Genny came out - I did have the PBC for a while), but I got another on ebay for cheap a couple years ago.
  22. That's great, thanks for putting those up. While I really don't mind the 5200 controllers, I do agree with most of your reviews. The 5200's is my favorite home port of Pac Man, and Moon Patrol is excellent. I never liked Kangaroo on the 5200, though, perhaps I'll give it another shot if it comes around on the HSC.
