I plan on selling my Founder’s Edition Evercade handheld w/ instructions and retail box (with a game or two) this coming week.
Since purchasing the new Evercade Exp handheld, I have no use for the original.
Everything is in mint condition.Photos will be in the FS thread, when I post it up for sale.

Had a bad scare last evening. My mother was doubled-over in pain and passed out. Thank God she is fine today, but last night was terrible. She arrived at the ER about 7pm last night (I arrived by car roughly a half hour after her).
Boy, the quality of Hospitals today are terrible. They were severely understaffed and they were sloooow. None of us (family that attended for morale support, including myself along with my mother) didn’t get home until 5:30am the next day.
Luckily her situation wasn’t serious and it was a slightly inflamed colon from eating something that didn’t agree with her.
I’m up for the day with less than 3hrs of sleep under my belt. I just thank God my mother is healthy and doing well.
So if you’ve sent me some private messages and I haven’t yet - please know that I will as soon as I can.

@ColecoGamer Yeah Mike. I was down there when I had issues with Covid. The ER was packed like going into a DMV office. My results came back similar like having a usual cold during the winter season. But sadly in my location, hospitals hare overwhelmed with patients and receiving appointments can take months.

The Holidays are finally here and I am struggling, Jim. You are the best brother anyone could have wanted. I sit here with tears welling up in my eyes, wishing you were here.
I miss hearing your voice; your laughter; your amazing personality and jokes. But most of all, I miss spending those days together playing Battlefield and Call of Duty together, listening to the other players complain because you were so darn good at kicking ass in-game, as I fudged around missing shot after shot. Lol
Happy Thanksgiving, bro’. And Merry Christmas. I love you and miss you so much, it hurts. I wish I could hug you again, just one last time.
Love, your older brother forever,
Mike

I’m feeling depressed this evening. It’s been 6 months since I lost my brother, my best friend in the whole world. There are days when I don’t even want to exist. Living each day is getting harder for me to do.
I miss you, bro’. I miss you so very much.
-
My deepest sympathies for the loss of your brother. Yes, I know my brother wouldn’t want me lost in sorrow each and every day. I do remember the good times and miss them very much. We only just lost him recently, so while I have my good days, I have others where it hits me like a freight train, you know?

What a tough week. My father is struggling through the grieving process regarding my brother’s sudden, unfortunate passing. All I can do is comfort him during this time of grief.
He’s a loving, but stubborn old guy. I suggested he see / attend a grievance group to help him cope/grieve the lost of his son (my younger brother).
I apologize if this post comes across as depressing; it wasn’t my intention to.
I just had to write about it to get it off my chest. My father was recently diagnosed with heart failure, and I pray he survives. I am DONE losing loved ones (my aunt last May; two good-hearted uncles, and then my baby brother).
It’s just been too much. God, please give me the strength and fortitude I need to carry on….

Since I’m on their mailing list, I just received an email from IE. Here’s what it says, for those who still have an interest in the Amico:
Business Update
I wanted to take a moment to provide an update and also extend my apologies. As you know it was my goal to communicate with you by the end of February however, over the last few weeks we started discussions with potential investors/acquirers outside of the StartEngine universe. As we continue to work with them on a deal structure and terms, it has been agreed that we maintain a "quiet period" while negotiating. The magnitude of this type of deal will invariably have an influence on our path forward but are excited about the potential of a new groups' involvement with Intellivision and will update you as soon as we are able.
Thank you for your continued support and patience.

Oh wait, they already used a hard money lender. They just called him a "board member" and his loan a "contribution" while hiding the fact that he gets $100 from every console sold until his "contribution" is repaid (hint: that makes it debt, not equity)..... for as long as they could get away with it.
-
Also, another hint: it's very common for risky loans to have a covenant requiring that the lender get a seat on the Board of Directors to protect the lender's interests by being able to vote for the direction of the org. I wouldn't be shocked if there's a covenant requiring the Lender Board Member's approval for any major transactions. We'll never know since the loan agreement ("contribution") won't be public, nor are the bylaws, but I'd venture a guess that this is precisely what happened, and given their funding issues, is a complete nail on the coffin.

Feeling a bit depressed and sad this evening. I miss playing Diablo II on Xbox with my brother.

The market research much also be telling them to still be redesigning the PCB and other things in 2022 for a console ready for 2020.
Via Nick Richards - "We feel confident that we will be able to take some significant cost out of the system as we move forward. Now that we are gathering more data on running the system in different environmental situations, we are starting to get a better understanding on how the system is generating heat as well as new PCB layout options – both allow us to simplify/shrink the PCBs and thus reduce cost. Now that we have gone through a couple iterations on the assembly line we also feel we can make some simple design changes to reduce assembly and test times, in turn reducing cost and increasing production throughput."

I’m finding it increasingly difficult to enjoy the things in life I usually enjoy doing (i.e. gaming for example). Is this normal?

This morning is the first day since the passing of my brother that I didn’t cry. Each day gets a little bit easier…

In the Amico Facebook group, John Alvarado explained what happened to TT:
“Hi Everyone,
I've seen that people have questions about why Tommy Tallarico transitioned out of the CEO role, and some have expressed disappointment over it, so I want to provide more information about that change.Tommy was previously doing the jobs of three+ people, including the roles of CEO, game producer, creative director, game designer, music/audio designer, to name the biggest ones. While it is not uncommon in a start-up for individuals to fill multiple roles, Tommy goes way beyond anything I’ve ever seen. He barely sleeps to get it all done.
Not long ago, Tommy was struck with a serious personal health challenge, and recently he has taken on the care of his ailing father. This made it impossible to maintain his super human pace. Tommy is such a great leader and doer that none of us wanted to lose him in any of his multiple roles, but for his own good, Tommy and the management team decided to have Phil Adam take on the CEO duties, bringing his wealth of experience to that role.
This change allows Tommy to focus on the areas of his greatest strengths as President and Chief Creative Officer, continuing to lead the production team and ensure that Amico games delight our target audience and fulfill our mission of bringing families together through video games.
I’ve known Tommy since the early 90s and worked with him many times over nearly three decades. I am proud to be on his team and work under his leadership. His devotion to our mission and the team continues to inspire us all.” -
I want to thank the good people of AA for reaching out to me (Charlie Cat too). As the days slowly pass by, it has been very difficult to cope. However, each day gets a little bit better.

@ColecoGamer You're welcome Mike. We're glad to know that your feeling better emotionally as the days go by. Will always be here for you and thank you for being a great member in the community in which we benefit from you posting as always bro.

We lost my brother today. I’m devastated. He was (and is, and always be) my best friend. We were like two peas in a pod. I remember us sitting in front of a giant, wooden Sylvania tv, and playing Atari Smurfs together, and him gleefully grabbing the second controller of the Intellivision, and deliberately killing my guy off in AD&D. He thought it was funny to have the blobs kill me guy off. Lol

I wasn’t going to say this since its so personal, but I want to explain why I may not be active for a while. I was present when my younger brother died of a heart attack. I called 911 and started performing CPR immediately. The EMTs, when they arrived, got his heart beating. They said the CPR I performed is WHY they could get his heart beating. They said it was a miracle due to his heart arrhythmia that they got his heart beating. My brother is a good man; give you the shirt off his back kinda’ guy. I know nobody here knows him, but please - pray (or whatever you might do) for him.

What’s on my mind? A bit too much. My recent Covid test came back ‘Positive’. I have no symptoms, but I suspect I caught it from my mother, who isn’t feeling well, as you know. Now I’m quarantining myself. Oh, yay!
-
Thank you, @Albert At least I have AA and my classic consoles to past the time by. I’m not showing any symptoms even though my mother has been sick for almost 10 days straight.
-
My elderly mother is really sick, and she is refusing to get Covid tested. This has me really stressed out. Is it wrong to say that I feel like the parent right now?

Hey, that is a fantastic idea, Charlie. It’s funny you should mention the home kits. I was just at the local gas station filling up the car. When I walked in to pay, they had Covid in-home kits available for purchase. I don’t picture gas stations as the best place to get one of these kits, but the timing of your comment and my seeing this in-home kit is coincidental.
-
@doctorclu I’m happy to hear that your father is doing well. This Covid virus is no joke; it ruins lives rather quickly. I can’t wait for the pandemic to be over, if this isn’t just wishful thinking on my part. It feels like you are jeopardizing your own life by just grocery shopping. I’m sure I am not alone in thinking that I never thought I would live to see a modern day plague sweeping through our world.
-
@ColecoGamer. Good to know. Sorry for the dely. Did you ever purchase the home kit bro?

I'm writing this from my new Apple M1 Macbook Pro. Happy New Year!

Just bought Quake Remastered for Nintendo Switch. The game runs fast and smooth! Not bad for $10.

@Master Phruby That is a very good movie and one that my dad and I have watched a few times. Definitely a very good one to check out.

I’m on the hunt for either an Atari 520ST or Atari 1040ST. I haven’t been successful so far, but I am remaining confident! The prices on eBay are decent, but some of the STs on there are being sold as ‘untested’ and ‘as-is’. The search continues…
