Retro Game Designer : Create your own games for Jaguar
ColecoGamer replied to Orion_'s topic in Atari Jaguar
I just spoke to Orion via PM and he’s dropping the project. -
I'm working on a new Colecovision game!

I am working on the levels through the Holiday weeked. This game is going to rock! -
Thank you, I knew I had it wrong!

Bump!

According to CJ, Amiga games are more difficult to port because they use the Amigas custom chipset. The Atari ST relies on its Motorola 68000 processor for almost everything - and since the same processor also exists inside the Jaguar - porting between the two platforms is a lot easier. I hope I am remembering this correctly, but the graphics for an ST game must be changed from chunky to linear (I hope I said it right!) for them to display on the Jaguar.

Retro Game Designer : Create your own games for Jaguar

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Orion sells this tool. Maybe he should ask for royalties on games sold using his tool? He could then justify selling his tool for less money. I dunno’, though... -

What the f*ck! I REALLY wanted this tool! Orion, PLEASE - I have DREAMED of a tool like yours! Me and others like me had no problem with the pricing. I was going to ask you if it was possible to upgrade to different versions later, say - if you start with the amateur bundle first, if you could upgrade later to officially sell your games on cartridge. This frickin sucks!!! I am genuinely pissed over this. -
PM sent regarding the following Gameboy game: Gauntlet / Rampart Shadowgate Classic Qix On a side note: being a hardcore Neo-Geo gamer myself - and having mingled in a few, smaller SNK groups in the distant past - I can verify that the word reproduction is harshly frowned upon when describing an unofficial Neo-Geo cartridge. In the more confined gaming world of SNK, anything that isnt SNK authentic is labeled a bootleg and treated like the plague. Back in the late 1990s, there were a group of unsavory people who learned how to make these bootlegs, and for a while they were passing said cartridges off as authentic, while charging a premuim for them too. The hate for these carts have stuck with true, hardcore Neo-Geo fans ever since. But I digress... I am not weighing in on the arguement either way; Im just looking to buy some great games for my GBA, while helping to explain why a couple of people here find the term reproduction offensive.

Hell yes! Rampage! Thank you, CJ!

Mappy is going to be the best Atari 2600 homebrew of 2018! Words can’t describe how badly I want this game on cartridge!

I enjoyed playing Impossamole on the Turbografx-16, so I’m down for a copy if Piko releases a Jaguar version.

This is excellent news, Gaz! You have no idea how excited I am.. Knowing that 2.4 is right around the corner has me smiling from ear to ear.

Jumpman Junior Super Game Prototype Cartridge?
ColecoGamer replied to ColecoGamer's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
So its what we all suspected right along: hes burning those carts and ripping people off. Unbelievable. He was told multiple times that those carts were fake, pirated and valueless to collectors. -
Still waiting for Piko to announce those new Jaguar games!

I love the concept! I am also a big fan of Berzerk/Frenzy. -
Bump. Price added. Thanks for looking!

Thank you for sharing! Really stupid question(s) since I am new to programming: is your source code written with 7800Basic or Assembly? And what did you use for a compiler to make it run when finished?
-
I am also open to a possible cash/trade as well. Mostly homebrew titles for the Colecovision, Intellivision or Atari 2600.

Releasing roms to legally buy (from Jaguar SD Cart thread)
ColecoGamer replied to juansolo's topic in Atari Jaguar
I like the idea of homebrew developers selling their games in ROM format for use with the Jaguar SD cartridge. I would still purchase the physical carts for my collection, though. -
Capcom was able to crame Resident Evil 2 into an N64 cartridge, and the game was every bit as good as the PS1 version. So yes, I could see this working (and myself playing it) on the Jag.

Announcement coming soon....stay tuned

Jumpman Junior Super Game Prototype Cartridge?
ColecoGamer replied to ColecoGamer's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Good news: I checked the seller’s items and he finally removed the offending, pirated Colecovision cartridges from eBay. Here’s the interesting part, though: after giving me a song and dance about how he is clueless about retro gaming (and the Colecovision console in particular), I noticed that he turned around and put the following up for sale: https://www.ebay.com/itm/COLECOVISION-11-Rare-Game-Cartridge-Lot-MR-DOs-CASTLE-Sir-Lancelot-TOMARC-THE-/273191076712 I suggest avoiding this guy like the plague. There are too many red flags involving his selling ethics and how he conducts himself on eBay. -

Very true. I was looking to leave neutral feedback, but also noticed that the ability to leave one (or even a negative for that matter) were unavailable. I felt that despite everything, the seller deserved a neutral after he continued to feign ingnorance on what he was selling, after I explained to him more than once that what he had in his possession were pirated carts. He is still selling those other pirated carts on eBay (last I checked), so that tells me he doesnt really care either way.
