  1. Why is this a big deal, as long as the final product has its own sound effects? Maybe Jeff missed his opportunity to tell everyone about the placeholders (via PM, he said they were, long before your post existed), but this is no reason to bring up past issues and use those to shit all over the project. Just saying… Life is too short to target people to impress a group of small-minded individuals .
  2. Placeholders can and do happen. I would only complain when the placeholders show up in the final version that you pay for. Right now, the only reason to even argue him using placeholders is to stir the pot, no matter how passive-aggressive you may be. Let the game launch for God’s sake before you tear it apart.
  3. I need to speak to our programmers, but once a stable playable demo is made, I am going to contact Funspot to host the demo play to their customers. We’ll be there to take suggestions and notes to improve the game. If all goes well when the time comes to play test the demo (i.e. Funspot says ‘yes’), we will update you through the very talented @Charlie Cat!
  4. We have a talented C programmer in the team who knows 68000 and Z80 programming. This guy is the REAL deal. I will give Anthony updates when they happen, to inform all of you. Neo-Geo forever!
  5. I’m happy for you, @Albert. But like so many here, I have my concerns. I see no reason to bring them up, since others have already. I will say this, though: I wonder how much control Atari has here. If they go belly up (and I pray this never happens), what will become of AA? Will it survive or does Atari bring it down with the ship? I think this is a concern we all share, in one form or another. As long as AA isn’t attached to Atari’s hip, I believe most people will be fine with the merger. We want a guarantee that AA will be around no matter what, even if the new Atari fails someday. I apologize if this has already been asked. I didn’t feel like reading 28 pages of responses.
  6. Kim Kapwhan gameplay video for Sega Genesis/Megadrive: Edit: I bought a copy of this incredible port and will report on it when it arrives, and when I can play test it.
  7. Since we have new rules to follow (including IPs), what would happen if someone (say.. me?) were to do an Arcade port of krull for the 2600. The game would be free in digital format. Would this be in-line with the board’s new rules, or would it be a complete waste of time? I’m asking because the job is going to be a lot of work. I don’t want to waste my time developing this title if it’ll get me banned or something.
  8. Hey @Charlie Cat, A dev group did a gorgeous version of Real Bout Fatal Fury Special for the Sega Genesis, and its on sale for $40 on eBay. They retained the animation, graphics and sound of the original Neo-Geo game. It’s quite a feat! https://www.ebay.com/itm/275928707043?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Nx0NLneSTqq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=YT3epDNRT52&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  9. Oh man! I thought it was Anthony’s Neo-Geo thread. My apologies!
  10. If you’re getting the MVS version, please put me down for one of those 138-in-1 cartridges!

  12. The roms are a mixture of large and small in my Xeno Crisis MVS cart. There are no EPROMs neither.
  13. I pre-ordered a copy at the end of last week, but I am happy I could buy a copy. I have never played Towers, so this will be an experience!
  14. I bought some rare Apple II games and the Shadowrun Trilogy by Limited Run Games. Yep, I’m going to be very busy this weekend!
  15. I need some advice. I have a consolized MVS from Neotropolis. Its a great unit and it works well. What I don’t like about it is how the motherboard is exposed, and the horizontal cartridge port. I have seen the newer CMVS systems modified to fit an AES-style shell, and it looks a lot easier to manage. Little worry about dust and my cats, which love to sit on everything I own. Can anyone recommend a reputable seller who has these CMVS units for sale?
  16. He could embed Python, too, if my memory serves me correctly. Python is a pretty flexible programming language, too.
  17. And it shows in the videos you have posted. I am really looking forward to playing this game!
