  1. The best grounds I have to argue (if I do file a complaint) is the seller’s insistance that it wasn’t a common, ordinary Coleco cartridge. He’ll also have to counter argue why he felt the cartridge wasn’t ordinary, and then explain why. The loss of a cartridge label won’t be good enough to validate his argument, if that’s the case.

  2. Some good news: according to the tracking number, the cartridge arrived a day early (i.e. today instead of Friday) at the Post Office. Ill drop by and pick it up after work. I am actually nervous about this now. The seller seemed friendly during the transaction, but his item descrptions are less than welcoming. Yes, its on me for buying from him. But at the same time - he is using dodgy practices to sell games. I dread doing a refund if this item turns out to be a common cart with a handwritten label.

If the cart isnt a proto, it will raise the following question: why is he falsely advertising games as prototypes? And how many unsuspecting people has he screwed along the way?

  3. Probably just a homemade label for regular jumpan junior. Does it have EPROMs inside?

Thank you for responding, Tempest. The cart will be arriving on Friday, according to the tracking number I received. I’ll open the cart then and post my findings. I’ll be pissed if the seller is passing off normal cartridges as prototypes.

  4. Hey all,

I recently purchased a prototype cartridge off eBay. Heres the confusing part about it: the BIN was labeled, Jumpman Junior Super Game Cartridge Homebrew Prototype?

The seller said it works on a standard Colecovision, but I always thought Super Games were only compatible with the Adam computer? Is it a Homebrew prototype maybe? I have no idea myself, but Im hoping to find out when it arrives on Friday.

    Any ideas?

Heres a photo of the cartridge:

  5. Testing on the console is great and all (and you will need to do it eventually), but using jzIntv during development should be sufficient and will take you 95% of the way there. You should get an LTO Flash! -- it's just that you shouldn't let the absence of one stop you from implementing your game.

    -dZ.

I agree, dZ. Work will begin on the project long before I purchase an LTO Flash cartridge. Buying one is in the cards, but not in the immediate future. I have spent a considerable amount of my gaming funds on new releases (i.e. Intellivision, Coleco, Atari Jaguar, etc), and there are more games I plan on adding to my collection before I purchase an LTO. But it’s good to know that I don’t need an LTO right away to work on this project. :)

  6. Excellent news, looking forward to hearing more about this

Im elated to hear that people are still excited about my project. :) Speaking of the project: I need to invest in an LTO Flash cartridge so I can test my work (as it progresses) on real hardware. But more than that - I look forward to the inty communitys feedback and/or suggestions on Magician Master, as it develops and shapes into the game we all want to play.

  7. Hey Everyone,

Magician Master is still alive and well. Work has kept me busy these past couple of months, so I haven’t been able to devote as much time to the project as I would like. The good news: I’ll have more time to work on the project now that Summer is almost here. I’m real excited about this project, and I can’t wait to really work on it from a programming perspective. :)

When the time is right, I will post a new WIP thread in the Inty programming forum.

    Until then!

  8. (Slaps forehead) Doh! A pinned thread already exists on this topic! I should have checked before doing a bunch of thread searches and then making this post. Oddly enough, the pinned topic never appeared in any of my searches.

To the moderators - please go easy on this poor soul! You could always beat me with the same newspaper my wife uses on me. According to her, it doesnt leave any marks. :(

  9. Hey all,

I was hoping someone here could provide some cleaning tips for my Atari 7800s power switch. It likes to work when it wants to. It could work on a single press or it could take a couple dozen attempts to make it power on.

I have spent the entire afternoon reading older threads about replacing the switch with parts from Mouser(sp?), but I was hoping there was an easier, cleaning technique available that I could try before I attempt a part replacement. Im no expert at soldering, and the last thing I want to do is screw up my 7800. Aside from the power switch issue, my system works perfectly.

Thank you in advance to those who respond; its greatly appreciated!

    Edit: Fixed spelling.
