  1. Man, I played 0 min of video games this past week. Can't remember the last time that happened...
  2. Destiny 2 is the free game on the service, and all of the different multiplayer modes have between 15 and 30 people playing them.
  3. PC HuniePop (1929 min) XB1 The Outer Worlds (315 min) DDN's post last week reminded me I also have an unplayed lewd game, lol. My buddy gifted me a copy of HuniePop last year during the BF sale because he swore it was the best match 3 game he's played. I thought it looked fairly cringey, and having played Candy Crush every day for a few months years ago, I was pretty much over match 3. He asked me during the summer if I'd played it yet, and I just rolled my eyes. But, I fired it up last week, and turns out we were both right. The game is facepalm-y and cringy during the dating sim parts, but damn, the match three game is addictive. I played past the dating sim part and into the Alpha Mode game+ where there's 100 games that get more and more difficult, and it's tough to not just do one more match. So, yeah, never thought I'd spend 30 hours in a week playing a dating sim or a Match 3 game, but here we are. I owe my friend a gift game, haha. Oh, and I did get some more Outer Worlds in before the other game took over. I'll be back to try and finish that this week.
  4. PC Divinity: Original Sin 2 (741 min) XB1 Borderlands 2 (154 min) The Outer Worlds (828 min) Finished Divinity. Oof, that final fight was a tough one. I also passed on one side quest because it was so ridiculous. But an excellent game, I want to try running a 1 PC "Lone Wolf" game in the future. Continued my co-op game of BL2, looks like BL3 is on sale this Black Friday, so I may get it then. Into the Outer Worlds finally, and it's exactly what I was hoping for. Obsidian definitely took Fallout New Vegas and made an awesome "part 2" with a new IP. Highly recommended!
  5. Sean Bean is the narrator in 6. And, *spoiler*, he doesn't even die!
  6. I've heard it controls fine on console. I've been a day 1 buyer of the Civ series since I first happened upon the first one back in the day. I'm happy to play on PC, but it's cool that it's being made available to more people.
  7. PC Divinity: Original Sin 2 (1524 min) Well, I was planning on finishing DOS2 and starting Outer Worlds this week, but the end of Divinity wasn't as close as I thought. I'm definitely close now, but I find that the first 10 hours and last 10 hours of this game are where the toughest fights are, so we'll see.
  8. I got both systems this year: built a new PC and bought a Switch. Is something coming out next year?
  9. PC Divinity: Original Sin 2 (607 min) Man, I'm chomping at the bit to start up Outer Worlds, but I'm getting close to the end of DOS2, so I'm going to do that first. I expect I'll have times for both those games next week.
  10. PC Divinity: Original Sin 2 (813 min) XB1 Bad North (119 min) Still working at Divinity 2, the party is level 13, though I have no idea what that means in terms of progress. Dang fun RPG, though. Bad North is newish to Game Pass and looked like my cup of tea, and it is! Puzzley (but not really), kinda tower defense (but not really), so yeah, tough to explain, but you each level is an island that you need to defend from attackers with armies that have different abilities and level up. Cool game.
  11. PC Divinity: Original Sin 2 (371 min) The Jackbox Party Pack 5 (48 min) Switch Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (67 min) I was away visiting relatives for the long weekend last week, so not much time to continue my D:OS2 game, but I played a bit of Jackbox at a party om Friday and played some Smash with my brother.
  12. Arcade Block Out (102 min) Galaga (8 min) Gauntlet (18 min) Hat Trick (22 min) NES Gauntlet (21 min) Visiting family for the long weekend, so my brother and I got some gaming in. Hat Trick is one of our go-to head-to-head games. Despite having the lead for both 7-game series we played, he won both 4-3. Block Out is another one we play a lot, first to 15 wins. We played two of those he won both of those too, 15-14, and 15-7 (ouch). And he beat me in Galaga and outlasted me in Gauntlet. I'm glad I can have fun while losing, lol. We played some Gauntlet on his NES to compare it to the arcade. My elf outlasted his warrior there, but Gauntlet isn't all that competitive.
  13. 40 years of gaming, I have yet to be an early adopter of any console. The closest would be either the Wii, 8 months after release, or maybe NES, which I got for Christmas in 86 after it became more widely available in NA. But it's usually at least a year, once the kinks are worked out.
  14. My fault. Sadly, the PS4 is currently collecting dust, thanks to the addition of a Switch, new PC, and Game Pass Ultimate.
  15. PC Divinity: Original Sin 2 (1104 min) Unlike last week, I stuck to one game this week. My overclocked GPU was the culprit for the crashing, the game runs great on Ultra settings without the OCing (and in fact, actually runs, lol). I played the original D:OS for about 10 hours, but it didn't really grab me. D:OS2 really has, though. The story is really good and the combat is fantastic.
  16. Pretty cool how this system can conform to different gamer styles. I have yet to undock mine since setup.
  17. PC Divinity: Original Sin 2 (164 min) Magic: the Gathering Arena (45 min) Switch Wargroove (252 min) XB1 Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon (45 min) Borderlands 2 (245 min) Dead Cells (178 min) Bounced around some games this week, continuing the BL2 co-op game and the Wargroove campaign. I've made it to the final boss (but not finishing him) in Dead Cells a couple times now, but it's tough and takes roughly an hour and a half to do, but it's fun to play so I hope to go back to it now and again. Speaking of Dead Cells, it kinda killed Bloodstained for me. I started that up this week and it feels so janky after playing DC so much. I was in the MtGA beta when it first came out, maybe played for about 40 hours, so I decided to check it out again now that it's released. But I really don't like the free-to-play style of game with their lootbox mechanisms. Picked up DOS2 on sale from GOG this weekend and started it up. I can see the potential of this game, but I'm suffering through game crashing (4 times during the 164 mins recorded), so I need to figure that out because it's pretty frustrating.
  18. Maybe Summer is a prostitute on the corner outside Atari headquarters...
  19. Switch Wargroove (634 min) XB1 Dead Cells (489 min) Still working on these two indies. Wargroove is getting tougher as it goes, but the AI isn't smart enough to draw back its units to heal them, so I've only failed and retried one of the side missions. But, a lot of the missions, I've only scored 1 of 3 stars, so room for improvement, I guess. Dead Cells is still fun, but a bit frustrating, too. Finally made it to the High Peak Castle level, but I ended up dying after getting the third key but before I could finish the level and fight the end boss. Argh.
  20. Switch Wargroove (443 min) XB1 Borderlands 2 (291 min) Dead Cells (725 min) Slay the Spire (89 min) Picked up Wargroove for Switch a few months ago, so I gave it a go and enjoyed it, as I expected, as turn-based strategy games are my go-to. What I wasn't sure about was Dead Cells, as roguelike metroidvainias aren't really my cup of tea, but I'm addicted, such a fun game! Sounds like BL3 needs some bugs squished, so my brother and I are still push on in our BL2 play through.
  21. So, this is why pre-release reviews were PC only. I'm still looking forward to playing this, but I'm still working through replaying BL2 with my brother. Hopefully the bugs will be cleaned up by the winter.
  22. XB1 Gears 5 (315 min) Slay the Spire (581 min) Just XBox this week, with a few more runs on StS, and I started the Gears 5 campaign, which is pretty good. I only played through about half of the first Gears of War, so I'm not a big fan of the franchise, but this one is approachable, even if you only kinda like FPSs, like me.
  23. It was either Robotron 2084 or Ms. Pac-Man in summer of 82 at the local laundromat back room arcade.
  24. Probably the NES era, for me. I was a console player in the 80s (2600 and NES), but moved mostly to PC after that (I owned an SNES, Genesis, and PlayStation, but I didn't use them much). Stayed with PCs until the XBox 360, and now I'm a mix of both.
