  1. PC Darkest Dungeon (917 min) Offworld Trading Company (122 min) Tabletopia (142 min) Twilight Struggle (170 min) Oculus Quest Beat Saber (539 min) Tried OTC to start the week and it's not really my cup of tea, as I prefer turn based to real time strategy. Been meaning to fire up Darkest Dungeon since I picked it up a couple years ago, and it's a fantastic turn based RPG, if a bit grim, but these are grim times, so I'm rolling with it. As a board gamer, I'm finding myself playing more of those digitally now. Played Scythe in Tabletopia with the same group as last week and played Twilight Struggle with my brother (I won as USSR after a full 10 turn game).
  2. PC doesn't get Sony or Nintendo exclusives, but it does get everything else when consoles do, if not before.
  3. If you're not cheating, you're not trying, amirite?
  4. That's what Indie games are for. The AAA studios can keep churning out their over produced GaaS crap. Lots of innovation happening in the indie space.
  5. Also: Would you like to trade in your phone? That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. Sure. You want my pants, too?
  6. But this way, Nintendo gets to sell more Switches! Win-win! Or maybe just win....
  7. Yeah, I prefer the TR series to Uncharted, too. A little more stealth and little less cover-shooter.
  8. The rumor that Spider-Man 2 is slated to come out holiday 2021 makes me grumble. I guess I don't have to get the console and game right when they come out, but that was a lot quicker turn around then I was expecting. Sounds like they're reusing assets along with creating new ones.
  9. Finished Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I liked the first two new TR games, but put this one off because I heard not great things about Eidos Montreal taking over. But now that I've played it, I'm not sure where the complaints come from. Definitely not innovative, but it's more Tomb Raider, which worked for me.
  10. XB1 Shadow of the Tomb Raider (218 min) Oculus Quest Beat Saber (519 min) PC Tabletopia (134 min) Finally finished Tomb Raider, and 100% it, though game thinks I'm missing one artifact because of a bug, but whatever. Enjoyed the game, but happy to be moving on, too. Every week Beat Saber becomes more like actual exercise, which is a nice plus. The Expert and Expert+ maps send between 4 and 5.5 blocks per second (and higher, though those ones are outside my ability so far) which takes some work to keep up with. I hummed and hawed about including Tabletopia, it being a Steam app to play board games on, but it is included under games and not utilities on Steam, and if playing Pandemic, Ticket to Ride, or Twilight Struggle in their native apps count, playing Viticulture on Tabletopia as I did probably should, too.
  11. Yeah, I have friends up here that think that EBGames up here in Canada is better than GS in the US, but this call is actually from EB Canada.
  12. A bunch of free games on Steam today (Drawful 2, Deiland, Headsnatchers, Tomb Raider 2013 and Temple of Osiris), too. And GOG has a game called Marble and the Wood for free, as well.
  13. I just want to know when Sony hired Dana Carvey.
  14. So BWC is not possible right away because the CPU is "too fast"? I thought we stopped tying games to processor cycles in early 90's PCs....
  15. XB1 Borderlands 2 (161 min) Shadow of the Tomb Raider (718 min) Oculus Quest Beat Saber (481 min) Vader Immortal (44 min) Not quite done SotTR yet. Caught up on all the stuff I missed before the final map, now to finish the game. Also finally got back to continuing my co-op game of BL2 with my brother. More Beat Saber, blah, blah. Also got to the 2nd part of Vader Immortal, pretty immersive, but the gameplay is a bit lacking. Force throwing is not very reactive and fighting with the lightsaber isn't very saber-like as you kind of need to stab with it to hit the fast moving targets.
  16. The amount of info we have between the Series X and PS5 is pretty phenomenal when you think about it. Sony has confirmed, um, a logo, I think.
  17. It's a lot more snappy, but the middle of the screen is covered in tiles, so my background image is pointless. I'm thinking of going to something abstract.
  18. Did you play Breath of the Wild on Wii U? Because that would be my #1 suggestion that you don't have listed.
  19. Well, duh, how did I already forget their new policy, lol. I found out that it was a known issue, but it was one of the older games that I got on sale for a couple bucks, so not a big deal.
  20. Has the policy changed in the past couple years? I remember getting Sea Dogs from them a couple years ago and I tried booting it up right away and it wouldn't even start. I contacted support and they were all <elmoshrug.gif> I love GOG, and buy from them when I can because DRM is the devil's tool, but I always make sure I'm either spending an amount that I don't care if it is basically thrown away, or that what I buy will definitely work...
  21. XB1 Shadow of the Tomb Raider (729 min) Oculus Quest Beat Saber (415 min) Synth Riders (58 min) Continued my SotTR game. I'm working on the DLC challenge tombs (which I didn't realize I needed to download for the definitive edition of the physical disc). Still playing Beat Saber, but I also tried Synth Riders, which is similar and pretty cool, but alas, its no Beat Saber, lol.
  22. PC (MS-DOS) Capitalism Plus (118 min) Played this business sim for a couple hours yesterday. That was just the tutorial, actually, so I need to dig into it a bit more...
