Hmm, and it's not even a full moon. Looks like it was just two people bidding silly. I guess two folks who have no idea what this stuff is worth both got the hots for an Atari with a lot of games at the same time. Ebay fever did the rest. -S

One states that the original box was thrown away and is not included. The other apparantly has the box and a $45 bin. My guess is that the one without the box saw the listing for the other one, remembered that he has one of those in the attic and thought he'd try to sell it. He then stole the description, pictures and title from the other auction. Pure speculation of course. -S

I don't own a 5200, but it looks like I'm gonna have to get one. I can't wait to play this! -S

Imagic did fantastic graphics, but I was never really nuts about any of their titles. Activision on the other hand, produced all of my favorite third party games. I vote Activision without even needing to consider the question for very long. -S

You might be able to rig up a leaf switch, but I wouldn't think the real thing would be more than a couple dollars. -S

Thanks guys. I've never owned a 7800 system so I'm totally in the dark about what the box art looks like. I just made a deal with a guy to buy these games and a boxed 7800 (I don't think the socks were included). I'm looking forward to trying some of these out. -S

The switches aren't leaf switches. I belive they're actually called coin switches or coin mech switches or something like that. They have a small wire that acts as a sort of lever. The wire is attached to the side of the switch and it has a 90 degree bend where it enters the chute the coin falls into when it exits the mech. The coin pushes the wire down which triggers the switch. Not sure how much sense that makes, it's a lot simpler than I make it sound. The short version is that they aren't leaf switches or microswitches, they're a different type of switch altogether. -S

Oh well if it was at the auction he may have sold it. I think it has an RGB monitor, but I'm not sure. If you like feel free to PM me your email address and I'll pass it on to him. I have no idea what it costs to ship a cab. Pretty pricy I would imagine. -S

Also your best bet for finding a complete coin door is probably ebay. Do make sure that everything is there though. Other than mechs, the individual parts for a coin door can be tricky to locate by themselves. Bear in mind that if you buy one on ebay it very well may need to be repainted. Again, the arcadecontrols.com forum is a good place to look for a complete coin door, but complete working doors are often pretty exensive there. If you're made of money they can be bought new from Happs. -S

Just to clear one thing up, the coin door and the coin mech are not the same thing. The coin mechs are mounted inside the coin door. Also the switch is not part of the coin mech. Here's a picture of the inside of my coin door. The goldish colored devices are the coin mechs. When a coin is dropped in the coin slot it falls through the mech which either validates that it is the correct coin or rejects it. If it's the correct coin it drops out the bottom of the mech hitting the switch on it's way, sending the signal for a credit. As far as I know coin mechs are universal. There are many different styles of coin door, but I belive any mech will fit them all. The best place I know to buy them used is on the arcadecontrols.com message board. There's a buy/ sell/ trade section and at any given time there are usually at least a couple different guys selling them. I recently bought two token mechs and 500 tokens for $20. -S

Treetsux, a cocktail and a cabaret are not the same thing. A cabaret has the same type of shape as a regular upright cab, but is smaller. I know of a guy in St. Louis who had a Space Firebird cabaret already converted to MAME for sale not long ago. Seems like he was asking somewhere in the neighborhood of $300-$400 for it. If this is something you might be interested in I'll put you in touch with him. -S

Sounds a lot like the room that my wife allows me to keep my toys in. I've got a half dozen console systems, a slew of games, hundreds of vinyl LPs, my computer, my modeling bench, a bunch of built and unbuilt models and a full size arcade cabinet all in a room that's about 10 x 12. -S
