  1. Here is a pic of my collection - original owner of all of them except the two on the very top. Great looking collection. Makes my Channel F collection look quite pitiful in comparison. -S
  2. I agree, the idea that this thing might have a USB connection and the capacity to download roms seems pure fantasy to me. A place to solder on a cart port was enough to make me happy. Homebrewed VCSp here I come. -S
  3. This game looks like fun. I think I might pick it up. It's fantastic. I find it to much, much better than GTA:SA. Also for the PS2 I'd recomend: ICO Beyond Good & Evil Katamari Damacy Prince of Persia (either one) -S
  4. I ususally keep mine turned way down so it's just barely audible. I have no problem with playing it with the volume turned all the way down if I'm in a situation where the sound might disturb others around me. A headphone jack would go completely unused on my GBA. -S
  5. Somehow I doubt the addition of a cart slot would effect sales to the "average" consumer at all. The "average" consumer seems pretty happy with the junky jakks sticks. IMO, Atari has hit a winner, Joe Average will think it's spiffy just like he thinks all that other retro junk that Jakks keeps vomiting up is spiffy. He'll buy it anyway. The hobbiests in the know (read that as us) will know it's great because of the use of legacy controller ports and the fact that anyone with a little skill can add a cart port. It's a win/ win product. I agree with Curt, if it came out of the box with a cart slot it would just give Atari a lot more headaches than extra sales. -S
  6. Again, who cares about what the "average" person does with this unit. Let them eat cake. As it stands, it sounds like the FB2 will support adding a cart slot, uses the original style 2600 controllers and plugs in via a standard DB9 port. Sounds like the original sticks & paddles will work too. Man, I'm itchin' to get ahold of one. Sounds like Atari may have produced the classic system I've been waiting for. -S
  7. Pac-Man doesn't have teeth. You'll never convince me that he does. Never, I say! NEVER! -S
  8. Yeah, but I'm a selfish bastard and could care less what "average" people do. All I care about is what I can do -S
  9. That's kind of disappointing. While I don't think I would have any trouble adding a cartridge slot as I'm relatively handy with a soldering iron, it seems to me that it would have been a better idea to have one already included on the unit. Without one, it is going to be just like the Jakk's units, only with a stellar selection of games. Wrong, being able to add a cart slot is fantastic news, and puts this new unit far and away above the old flashback and the jakk's crap. Can't wait to get my grubby little mitts on one. -S
  10. I have to say that even though I'm not a Journey fan (and wasn't in the '80s either) that's still a very good choice for the music. It's certainly the kind of thing that got a lot of airtime in the '80s and hey, Journey even had their own arcade game. -S
  11. Ah, it's working for me now. The Opus toy inside the crane game was the icing in the cake. I still have my Opus telephone and Bill the Cat doll. -S
  12. 10,800 and I don't see getting much better. I pretty much stink at this game. -S
  13. A light bulb? I've been looking everywhere for one of those! BIN here I cone! -S
  14. The only rule we have is never ask NE146 for pictures of anything. -S
  15. I think I'm moving along at a pretty good pace. I've got all but two pieces of the triforce (or whatever it's called). -S
  16. HAHAHAHA! I probably would have gone with Donkey Kong too. -S
  17. What song is it? I can't manage to get the video to download. Probably the firewall at work is causing a problem. -S
  18. Possibly he was struck down by the gods of good taste. -S
  19. I got so close to buying a Frogger not long ago, but the guy backed out of the deal at the last minute. Ya gotta love those woodgrain cabs. -S
  20. I think that really depends on the sport doesn't it? American Football, Boxing, Hocky, yes I can see that. Baseball, Tennis, Soccer, I can't imagine that anyone thinks any of those are overly violent. -S
  21. I'll keep you in mind, but I'd rather get the GBA version. I kind of like being able to relax in the recliner & play games while my wife is watching TV. -S
  22. Tell that to those poor bricks. I agree with everything else you said. -S
  23. Stingray
