  1. Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you at the show -^Cro§Bow^-. Flack pointed you out to me, but every time I saw you, you were deep in conversation with someone, being interviewed by a news crew or just generally looking super busy. You put on a great show, I had a blast! In any case, had I known you needed help I would have volunteered as well. Hopefully next year I'll be able to display some stuff, just wasn't able to get it together this time. -S
  2. Dude...we were EVERYWHERE 878215[/snapback] Why is it that I never managed to meet you? Turns out there were so many people at that show that I wanted to meet, but only actually met maybe four or five. -S
  3. You absolutely cannot beat a free Tempest, regardless of condition. Here's hoping you can bring it back to it's former glory. -S
  4. Yes, we talked for a bit about MAME cabs. We were discussing how tempramental they can be, and yours chose that exact moment to stop responding. I held the control panel up for you while you reached inside to reattach the KeyWhiz. I also commented on the unusual (to me at least) slimline mechs inside your coin door. I also played both versions of Astro Invader long enough to determine that I really stink at both. I didn't realize that it was already available to buy at the show or I would have bought a copy while I was there. -S
  5. Bummer. I expected that it never got finished since I'd never seen any pictures of it posted anywhere. Oh well, the swappable eprom cart is a pretty good consolation prize. I'm totally enamoured with my Vectrex right now. I've had the hots to buy a vector cab for a long time now, but since I can't seem to find any priced within reason, the Vectrex makes a pretty good substitute. -S
  6. Why only ten? They all sold out before I even saw this post. Do you have any plans to make more? -S
  7. HAHAHA! Man, I was really in the Galaxian Zone when you snapped that. Your wife wants you to buy a Star Wars and you don't own it yet? What the heck's wrong with you??? -S
  8. I bought a Vectrex Saturday at OVGE and I've been searching through the old Vectrex related posts today. I came across this two year old thread and I just had to bump it. Did you ever get your color Vectrex cocktail working Cassidy? -S
  9. I don't know a thing about programming, but I was at OVGE, and I got a chance to see this new CV game running next to the real thing in MAME and I saw no difference whatsoever. Scott did an outstanding job with the conversion. He also had a really super looking MAME cab. Very well done on both counts Scott! -S
  10. Yes, they're 8-ways. Any 8-way arcade stick will work fine, they don't have to be leaf switches. I just used those sticks because they were what I happened to have on hand at the time. -s
  11. Wow, an EM pin and a color vector, it just doesn't get much better than that in my opinion! Very nice. Tempest just happens to be my very favorite arcade game of all time so color me quite envious! -S
  12. They're both Wico style leaf sticks, although I think they are both actually Asian-made lookalikes. They both work fine. They both came out of my parts bin. Not sure where either came from originally. -S
  13. I got a chance to check out Flack's GP32 at OVGE this weekend. Very, very cool little device. I'm seriously considering buying one myself. -S
  14. Here's my homemade Colecovision controller. I did clean up the wiring before I closed it up. Here's my Atari 2600 controller (also works fine with 7800 games that only use one button) Next I plan to build a Vectrex controller. -S
  15. I managed to buy a Vectrex at OVGE over the weekend. Seemed to be the only one there and I was very excited to see it. I've been looking for one locally for quite a long time. Searching through the forums, I'm thrilled to see how active the homebrew scene is for this particular system. I've emailed Mark at vectrexcarts.com. Hopefully the games I want are currently available. -S
  16. Anyone know of any other sources for these? -S
  17. Nice going Lord Helmet, you broke the webcam! -S
  18. I agree on both counts. I probaly had more fun playing those two games than anything else I played all day. Figures that neither are for sale yet. Oh well, something to look forward to. -S
  19. Thanks, and I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Also sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you before you left. Actually after reading through this thread, I see there were a lot of people there that I would have like to have met but didn't. Well maybe next year. -S
  20. I guess I never even noticed the webcam at the show. If anyone saved pics I'd like to see them too. -S
  21. Thanks for having th forsight to bring along a few extras for the space cadets like myself who fogot to ask for a preprinted one. Good to meet you in person Albert! -S
  22. It was good to meet a few of you folks who I know from this board. I intended to stay longer, but at about 1 PM that Vectrex I bought started calling my name. I had to get it home and plug it in! Lots of good stuff to see & good people to chat with. I'm already looking forward to next year. -S
  23. I'll be there. I sure am glad you PMed me this morning. I had completely forgotten about it. -S
  24. I'll be there and probably will end up spending way too much $$$. -S
  25. Well I just asw this thread, so I expect it's too late to get one. Hope you have some blanks. See you guys tomorrow. -S
