  1. Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you at the show -^Cro§Bow^-. Flack pointed you out to me, but every time I saw you, you were deep in conversation with someone, being interviewed by a news crew or just generally looking super busy. You put on a great show, I had a blast!

In any case, had I known you needed help I would have volunteered as well. Hopefully next year I'll be able to display some stuff, just wasn't able to get it together this time.

  2. Great set of pictures.  I notice that Lord Helmet and family seem to be in the background of about every other shot.

How big was the show compared to last year?

This is just making my classic gaming show withdrawl that much worse.  Why can't Philly get here sooner? Argh!

Why is it that I never managed to meet you? Turns out there were so many people at that show that I wanted to meet, but only actually met maybe four or five.

  3. Stingray,

Thanks for compliments, I really do appr it.

Didn't I meet you at the show?  All the faces/names are bleeding together.

Yes, we talked for a bit about MAME cabs. We were discussing how tempramental they can be, and yours chose that exact moment to stop responding. I held the control panel up for you while you reached inside to reattach the KeyWhiz. I also commented on the unusual (to me at least) slimline mechs inside your coin door.

I also played both versions of Astro Invader long enough to determine that I really stink at both. ;) I didn't realize that it was already available to buy at the show or I would have bought a copy while I was there.

  4. Bummer. I expected that it never got finished since I'd never seen any pictures of it posted anywhere. Oh well, the swappable eprom cart is a pretty good consolation prize. :)

I'm totally enamoured with my Vectrex right now. I've had the hots to buy a vector cab for a long time now, but since I can't seem to find any priced within reason, the Vectrex makes a pretty good substitute.

HAHAHA! Man, I was really in the Galaxian Zone when you snapped that. :)

Guys. You got not just a picture of me playing an arcade game (something I've always wanted), but me playing Star Wars. Thank you! You have no idea! I can die happy now.

My wife is still trying to get me to buy that machine.

Your wife wants you to buy a Star Wars and you don't own it yet? What the heck's wrong with you??? ;)

I did clean up the wiring before I closed it up. :)

Here's my Atari 2600 controller (also works fine with 7800 games that only use one button)

Next I plan to build a Vectrex controller.

  7. I managed to buy a Vectrex at OVGE over the weekend. Seemed to be the only one there and I was very excited to see it. I've been looking for one locally for quite a long time. Searching through the forums, I'm thrilled to see how active the homebrew scene is for this particular system. I've emailed Mark at vectrexcarts.com. Hopefully the games I want are currently available.

  8.

Adventure II looks like it is going to live up to all of it's hype. I predict that this will be the best selling homebrew ever. I also liked Man Goes Down (with the AtariVox, of course)

I agree on both counts. I probaly had more fun playing those two games than anything else I played all day. Figures that neither are for sale yet. Oh well, something to look forward to.

Thanks, and I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Also sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you before you left.

Actually after reading through this thread, I see there were a lot of people there that I would have like to have met but didn't. Well maybe next year.

  10. It was good to meet a few of you folks who I know from this board. I intended to stay longer, but at about 1 PM that Vectrex I bought started calling my name. I had to get it home and plug it in!

Lots of good stuff to see & good people to chat with. I'm already looking forward to next year. :)
