I may be alone in this, but I think the QD is just about the right size. Yes the screen is a little small, but it fits perfectly with the overall size of the system, which is just tiny. Personally I wouldn't want it to be any bigger, it fits very nicely in my pocket as it is, but it's about as big as I can be and still be unobtrusive. -S

Oh, quite a lof of emulators, more than I thought. There's even MAME and SNES, wonder if they run at a decent speed... 858680[/snapback] Sadly, the MAME port is pretty cruddy, at least on the few games that I tried on it. -S

I know, it just makes me sick seeing all those great games covered in dust, when there are so many that I'd love to add to my collection, multiples of many of them. -S

I don't remember seeing any that were 50 cents before Dragons Lair. I also don't ever remember seeing any that were less than a quarter ever, including the early black & white stuff. -S

Out me on the interested list. I also feel like a custom case is an extra that I could live without if it keeps the price down. My only concern is about the expansion port. I know the EP on my CV is pretty flaky, and I understand that this is a somewhat common problem. -S

Thanks Cassidy. I've actually replaced the artwork and the t-molding on both control panels, but for the most part this machine really is a very nice survivor. Amazing that it has stayed in the condition that it's in for so long. It even still has the serial number tag & dip switch settings stapled on the inside. -S

Plenty of folks mount PC monitors in that way for MAME projects. No problem at all. Worst case, you'll have to degausse it before you use it the first time. -S

Sort of a little two way lever. It does look funny and it plays funny as well. It took me quite a while to get used to playing SI with this control after years of playing it in MAME with a joystick. When I first got this cocktail I was concerned that I'd be in big trouble if that oddball little control ever broke, but after taking it apart I found that I was worried about nothing. It's built like a tank under the panel. -S

I don't think the Midway type of cocktail is very common at all in Australia. This is the kind that seems to be most prevalent over there: -S

I agree, they are great fun, that's why I have one in my game room. Midway cocktails were everywhere around here from about the mid 80's to early 90s. You couldn't walk into a pizza place without seeing a couple of them. Wonder where they all went? -S

It ups the Asteroids action to a new level on the VCS. 853305[/snapback] Yep, I always play it with fast rocks & UFOs. Asteroids was one of my favorites as a kid. I've probably put hundreds of hours in on it. One of these days I'll try Thomas's hack. -S
